Like so many people these days, we had some financial issues. Instead of losing our home, we decided to engage in a loan -modification program with our mortgage company. The mortgage company told us in order to qualify for the program we must stop paying the mortgage. Even though this made us uncomfo...rtable, we blindly followed their advice. This turned out to be a HUGE mistake. We took it upon ourselves to work directly with the mortgage company. It was our worst nightmare. We got the run around.
