In February of this year (2010), a trustee’s sale notice was posted on my front door. My home was being foreclosed, the sale date was just three weeks away. I was about to become another statistic in the huge foreclosure crisis that has shaken this nation. After dragging its feet for several mon...ths, the bank had turned down my request for a loan modification and by then I owed $25000 in arrears. The only option appeared to be bankruptcy. This was when I turned to Attorney Dimitry Tsimberg for help. After a very thorough review, he wrote a lengthy letter to the bank detailing errors it had made in the modification calculations as well as in the foreclosure process. Much to my relief, the trustee’s sale was postponed and the bank agreed to review the modification documents. My interest rate is down to 2%. After 5 years it will go up – but no more than 4%.
