Stephanie Smith provided clarity and very useful working steps in our process of successfully subdividing our property into multi- parcels. I liked her approach to working with the government agencies.
Stephanie Smith is professional, knowledgeable and very pleasant. She went above and beyond our need for legal representation and I can't thank her enough for her patience with me.

I work to successfully guide your project across the complex arena of land use so that you can reach your goals. I have a broad range of experience that includes use permits, zoning, renewable energy, agriculture, mitigation, & easements.
I can work with you to strategize and find solutions related to CEQA and the Endangered Species Act. With experience interpreting federal and state regulations across numerous fields I am uniquely posed to help with your project.
Tied to my land use and zoning practice, I also have experience advising on major and minor subdivisions, Williamson agricultural contracts, renewable energy projects, public infrastructure projects, and use permits.
With past experience advising a local public agency and representing private interests at a large law firm, I am able to spot the issues that matter most, implement solutions, and manage the competing priorities and interests between public agencies, development, agriculture, and land conservation. Utilizing innovative and implementable solutions, I can provide straightforward advice on land use, zoning, and the environment.
I graduated Cum Laude from Pepperdine School of Law where I also served as an editor for the Pepperdine Law Review. Prior to serving as the managing attorney at Grid Legal, I worked for the County of San Diego where I advised on a variety of complex legal issues pertaining to CEQA, land use, zoning, and the Endangered Species Act. I also have experience as a litigator which I gained at the international law firm of DLA Piper in Los Angeles. While at DLA Piper, I represented large corporationas and private individuals on matters pertaining to investments, funding, regulatory compliance, and privacy.
A native of Canada turned San Diegan, I love to jog, camp, and travel.
