I had an amazing experience with attorney Calhoon and got more than I expected for far less than I expected to pay. I recommend

Things worked out very well for me and my daughter, pretty quickly, and I plan to go back son for full custody when the timing is right. I retained attorney Calhoon when my ex of 15 years was dragging me back into court to try to take my time away with our daughter who is 10. Prior to hiring at...torney I was already losing with all my Christmas time taken away at the last minute. We worked together to develop a plan and we attempted to carry it out just as we discussed and planned. It worked a little at first, but not completely as we had hoped, so we changed direction a little, I worked on being "super dad" as we discussed, and the next hearing we got everything back and far more. I hope to have my daughter residing primarily with me soon, but I have already gone from about 20 percent to 43 percent with the Judge being convinced what mother had done at Christmas time was wrong. I couldn't be much happier. I was most impressed with this attorney from a superior law school and having received his doctorate at only 22, in the state assembly shortly thereafter, a former Deputy DA, 23 year Family Law attorney and more. I asked questions and heard all of this, but did not completely understand what it meant until I saw it in action. Superior education and work ethic does make a difference. I couldn't believe how hard he worked, and he did all of the work before being worried about charging me more money and then cut the outstanding balance to only $1,000.00 on a good dad discount for me. He didn't always take my calls right away like I would like, but did always return them by the next day and usually sooner. So, I don't give 5 stars for responsiveness and answering the telephone, but understand he's only 1 man. I have to give full stars on everything else. I'm very happy, but also understand that winning my case had as much to do with me doing the hard work to be the best dad I could be and attorney Calhoon only put the "finishing touches" on my work in court. I'm going to keep working hard for my daughter. I appreciate the lawyer caring and working very hard too.

unprepared, undependable, unprofessional attorney

I hired this this very ineffective and undependable attorney to represent my custody case. He promised he'd fight hard and win back all my time with my son and delivered none of the things he promised that he would. He actually ended up getting my time with my son reduced! He was very unprofessional ...during personal meetings, and very unprofessional, unprepared and always late for court hearings. This angered the judge and my ex's attorney at every hearing. On many occasions the judge would get so frustrated with him that she warned him of contempt of court.

MY HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION FOR ORANGE COUNTY FATHERS RIGHTS ATTORNEY ERNEST CALHOON. HONEST AND EFFECTIVE! MR. CALHOON SAVED ME

I am a medical doctor and write my review anonymously to maintain my privacy for my patients and me. I hired Mr. Calhoon after spending $40,000.00 with my prior counsel and getting nowhere except for negative progress. I was extremely pleasantly surprised with his representation. My case was n...ot easy as my wife was trying to be difficult in every way possible. She found a lawyer to follow her lead on this in every way. Unfortunately, at first I did not have the lawyer to fight back and that lasted a year. When I finally got Mr. Calhoon I had the lawyer to fight back as I will explain. First, Mr. Calhoon kept me informed of everything that was going on at all stages of the proceeding. Whenever we had communication with the opposition I received copies of messages. I was also sent electronically all emails, faxes and pleadings in the case. This might seem normal to others, but this was not my experience with the prior counsel I had hired. I didn't expect all of this. It just happened. When I hired Mr. Calhoon I had not seen my case file, deposition transcripts, or anything else. I didn't ask him to do anything regarding that, but he simply copied all of it and emailed it to me so I could assist in my own case. It was refreshing, and turned out to be very effective in the long run. I had no problem reaching Mr. Calhoon either by email, phone or otherwise, and messages left were always promptly returned. To be clear on this, no communication of mine was ever left unanswered and was always returned in kind (email by email) or often with a phone call explaining details that email would be cumbersome to explain. I wish I could say we quickly reached our objectives. It was quick relative to the prior counsel, but it still took time, with the court continuing over our objections more than once. However, I can say we developed a strategy together and carried it out. When things didn't go our way initially, we just changed direction just a little bit and kept working and in the end we got there. I received everything I wanted and more in the end. It was a great deal of work and I saw that in the frequent court filings, faxes, emails and other communications and work. Mr. Calhoon worked far more than an 8 hour day on his job, and that hard work and dedication paid off for me -- the client -- in the end. I only wish I had hired him a year sooner, as much of his work was unraveling the mistakes of the prior counsel. I highly recommend this attorney. I was extremely pleasantly surprised with Mr. Calhoon's great work, efforts and results. As a professional myself, I particularly appreciate his work understanding the challenges working with people and other professionals.

Mr. Calhoon is the Bomb! Best Divorce Attorney in Orange County

I retained Mr. Calhoon after I discovered mywife having an affair and she moved out with the kids and filed for divorce and custody and tried to make it so I couldn't see my kids ...turning me into a giant ATM. I was totally despondent over the divorce and barely able to function. I found Mr. Calhoon... through a Fathers rights group where he was generally considered among members of that group to be the best bang for the buck in fathers rights law. He stopped my soon to be ex and her high priced attorney in their tracks ... My wifes 600 hr attorney was genuinely intimidated by Mr. Calhoon and it was evident that he commands a great deal of respect from the judges and court staff as well. Now I have full access to my kds...liberal visitation and I only pay half as much child support as she she wanted...Thank you Ernest Calhoon! I will recommend you to everyone I know.

Great/Busy Father's Rights Lawyer

Got me my kids, what can I say. We saved their lives together. He is VERY busy, but extremely and effective. Not cheap, but reasonable for the work he puts in. I highly recommend.
