Ernest Calhoon

I was referred to this lawyer by a friend who he represented before. He spent considerable time fixing my issue with a phone call and didn't charge me even though I offered to pay. That was very nice and I will go back to him for my needs, and send my friends too. He's an honest decent guy. Kudos... to my friend for refereing me to him.

Mr. Calhoon WON me 50/50 With Jr. When The Courts own "Expert" said I should only have 4 hours a week by a paid supervisor. I am with my son now! The whole seems corrupt and wrong. I did nothing wrong and yet my ex got orders saying I got zero time with our little boy. It wasn't easy, but Mr.... Calhoon did a great amount of work and I got 50/50 with our little boy instead of the zero time the mother wanted me to have or the 4 hours a week the so called "Expert" said I should have. It was a real fight. He's definitely not a cheap lawyer, but fair. He works very hard and definitely cares about my little boy and me. I highly recommend. 2 Thumbs Up!

Newport Beach lawyer Ernest Calhoon fought for me and won my case. And while I realize he usually represents fathers, I came referred and he did mine. He can't fight any harder for the anyone than he did for me. His winning my case may seem like a small thing, but every other lawyer I spoke with ...in the area said I had to move back to where my abusive husband lived. My husband is from a very affluent family in the area and I feared I could not get a fair hearing. I also feared for my safety if I came back. Ernest Calhoon said I didn't have to and shouldn't, and fought for me. Ernest Calhoon spoke to many lawyers to attempt to find a good one to take over my case, but he and I just couldn't find one, so he ultimately took it over himself even though it was out of his area. The cards in the deck of my case were really stacked against me, and we fought the first judge, a commissioner, who seemed unfair. I made the decision to ask that Judge be removed, and Ernest Calhoon fought to do that, but the judge said he was wrong and didn't have to leave. The Judge did leave, and with the new Judge I was allowed to stay with my family and not return until the trial (we won that fight) and later was allowed to stay permanently after a full trial (we won that one too). All the people at the courthouse knew him as "The Newport Beach Lawyer", and they said that with respect. I was able to stand my ground, to stand up for myself and my children for the first time in my life. I did so and won, even when all the supposed experts told me I could not win and to not even fight. We are still happily living near my family out of state, and have never returned. I thank the Lord every day for this lawyer and what he did for my children and me.

Things worked out very well for me and my daughter, pretty quickly, and I plan to go back son for full custody when the timing is right. I retained attorney Calhoon when my ex of 15 years was dragging me back into court to try to take my time away with our daughter who is 10. Prior to hiring at...torney I was already losing with all my Christmas time taken away at the last minute. We worked together to develop a plan and we attempted to carry it out just as we discussed and planned. It worked a little at first, but not completely as we had hoped, so we changed direction a little, I worked on being "super dad" as we discussed, and the next hearing we got everything back and far more. I hope to have my daughter residing primarily with me soon, but I have already gone from about 20 percent to 43 percent with the Judge being convinced what mother had done at Christmas time was wrong. I couldn't be much happier. I was most impressed with this attorney from a superior law school and having received his doctorate at only 22, in the state assembly shortly thereafter, a former Deputy DA, 23 year Family Law attorney and more. I asked questions and heard all of this, but did not completely understand what it meant until I saw it in action. Superior education and work ethic does make a difference. I couldn't believe how hard he worked, and he did all of the work before being worried about charging me more money and then cut the outstanding balance to only $1,000.00 on a good dad discount for me. He didn't always take my calls right away like I would like, but did always return them by the next day and usually sooner. So, I don't give 5 stars for responsiveness and answering the telephone, but understand he's only 1 man. I have to give full stars on everything else. I'm very happy, but also understand that winning my case had as much to do with me doing the hard work to be the best dad I could be and attorney Calhoon only put the "finishing touches" on my work in court. I'm going to keep working hard for my daughter. I appreciate the lawyer caring and working very hard too.
