Made us feel comfortable

My wife is immigrating from Germany and we are in the process of an AOS for her. Leah was the second lawyer we met with. The 1st was Giacomo Jacques Behar(Another SD imigration lawyer. Long story short he is a rude deceitful man who I would not trust with import matters such as this. (See my soon to ...come review on him for details). Leah avoided stating the obvious that it would be "easier" to do with a lawyer representing us through the whole process. The previous lawyer spent the 1st 20 minutes of our paid time talking about how tough SD immigration is. Every word was spent on building fear and sewing doubt. Paperwork is not fun but we are both english speakers so the paperwork was not that difficult we just had some questions. Leah answered our questions and it turned out we have the forms filled out correctly aside from a few minor corrections. Leah was encouraging and gave us tips for the interview. She actually spent an extra hour with us and did not charge us. Thanks Leah

Entrusted my mother's fate to this attorney, was not disappointed

My ailing, elderly mother needed representation in Immigration Court to adjust her status as an immigrant. Leah handled the matter professionally and saw it resolved successfully in a matter of weeks. We are forever grateful to her for removing the awful cloud of doubt and uncertainty that plagued ou...r family until this was settled. Leah, thank you again for your assistance, competence & empathy!

Relationship: Worked for lawyer

"Leah's a mentor and a colleague. She's tirelessly served the San Diego immigrant community for more than 30 years and her experience is unparalleled. She serves as a national mentor on R visas for religious workers and consistently provides counsel to businesses and scientists with regard to immigration options. She's also well-respected in the immigration courts and USCIS offices. It's my unequivocal pleasure to endorse her."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
