Biography
I am a San Diego attorney and the founding partner of Sattro Law Group, P.C., with offices in San Diego, Newport Beach, and Beverly Hills.
My practice focuses on four areas: personal injury, business and corporate law, entertainment, and cannabis. I represent people injured in vehicle and bicycle collisions. I advise founders and established companies on formation, governance, contracts, and the transactions that move a business forward. I represent actors, directors, writers, producers, and musicians, work I have done since the early 2000s. And I handle cannabis matters, from licensing and regulatory compliance to disputes and sales.
Clients tend to arrive at one of two moments. Something has gone wrong and it needs to be handled, or something is about to go right and it needs to be structured so it stays that way. Both are worth doing well.
Alongside the firm, I serve as Managing Director of Nationwide Mergers and Acquisitions at Green Life Business Group, Inc., where I advise buyers and sellers on cannabis transactions: license acquisitions, distressed asset sales, receiverships, and exits. Courts in California and Massachusetts have appointed me as an expert on cannabis business and real property valuation, and I testify on valuation, lost profits, and fair market value in ownership disputes.
That combination is the reason clients call. I do not read about these deals. I price them, negotiate them, and close them. I hold a California real estate broker license because so much of this work turns on the property underneath the business, and I know what a courtroom does to a valuation that was never built to survive one.
Before practicing law I served as a commissioned officer in the United States Army National Guard, and I trained for six years in improvisational comedy including at The Groundlings in Los Angeles. The first taught me how to stay useful under pressure. The second taught me how to listen, which turns out to be most of the job.
I hold a Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from California State University, Fullerton. I am admitted to the State Bar of California (No. 288947) and to the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, and I am a member of the Beverly Hills, San Diego County, and Los Angeles County Bar Associations.
