A Cold Reflection on Professional Abandonment.

I approached attorney Vilmarie Cordero of Gram Hollis APC with a case so straightforward it demanded no interpretation. My employer’s HR department explicitly confirmed in writing that they reviewed surveillance footage capturing a bee swarm at my assigned post. This was not an imagined threat; it wa...s a visible, documented hazard. Yet, despite this acknowledgment, I was scolded—both on site and via email—for “leaving my post.” Let that sink in: I acted to avoid immediate, known danger—danger that was caught on their own surveillance—and was reprimanded for prioritizing my own safety. In addition, I have three witnesses who observed the same events, corroborating my account of escaping imminent harm. The employer’s denial letter to OSHA—directly contradicting their prior written admission—was also submitted, though OSHA declined to investigate. That failure is regrettable, but it does not diminish the employer’s documented misconduct or the clear legal responsibility to act on it. Ms. Cordero stated that she cannot litigate against OSHA, which is understandable. However, the core issue of this case is not OSHA’s response—it is my employer’s willful endangerment and contradictory statements, all thoroughly documented. This falls squarely within the domain of employment law, and Ms. Cordero, as a stakeholder in Gram Hollis APC, unquestionably had the legal power and expertise to hold my employer accountable based on the overwhelming evidence presented. Her decision to reject the case on the grounds of “insufficient evidence” is therefore not just surprising—it is disingenuous. It reflects a refusal to act on clear, multi-faceted documentation of employer negligence, rather than any true lack of merit. This experience exposed a disturbing truth: even when safety violations are admitted in writing, witnessed by multiple parties, and documented on video, justice can be denied. The message to workers is chilling: even irrefutable proof may not compel action. I share this not with bitterness, but to caution others. If your safety has been compromised and your evidence is compelling, be aware that the legal system—and those entrusted to navigate it—may still fail you. Proceed with eyes wide open. Were it possible to assign a rating below one star, I would do so without hesitation; until then, this single star must suffice as my honest appraisal.
