Scott Marvin Schlegel

I had retained Scott’s services back in 2001 to represent me as a criminal defense attorney over an incident that occurred in college. Due to the incident I was placed on academic probation pending the outcome of the case. Scott was able to clear my name and I was able to go back to school and comple...te my education in the sciences receiving my degree in Cell & Molecular Biology and I have been gainfully employed over the past 14 years as a scientist in the biotech industry. Thank you Scott for making my life undoubtedly better than what it would’ve been if that case’s outcome was any different than how it turned out. I was what you’d call a “late bloomer” as I wasted most of my 20s away doing “BS” and having run-ins with the law. For many years I had been wondering about my past and what my record like and so a couple of years ago I performed a live scan to obtain my record from the department of justice. My previous attorneys helped me in my endeavors, but didn’t complete their job in getting the cases properly dismissed rendering some charges to still be present on my permanent record! Well, as I had retained Scott’s services over a decade ago, I thought to call him up and discuss my findings. After discussing the cases I asked him if I could retain his services once again to bring closure to my “colorful” past. Even though the cases were over 20 years ago and outside of San Diego, Scott accepted! Well, apparently (but not surprisingly) the courts are overloaded with on-going cases and so it took almost a year and a half to complete what we’d sought to do! During this “quest” both Scott and Nikki Tran (thank you so much Nikki for everything!!!) have made it possible for me to rest assured that my past is now completely behind me, that there are no more strings untied, and that the future is whatever I make of it and my past won’t hinder any accomplishments I seek to do.
