Colby J. Ryan

Colby J. Ryan, originally from Las Vegas, NV, migrated to San Diego shortly after graduating early from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management. While in San Diego, Mr. Ryan obtained his Juris Doctorate from the California Western School of Law. During his time in law school, Mr. Ryan clerked three separate semesters for the State Public Defender in San Diego, working in the Central Felony Division, Juvenile Delinquency Division, and Central Misdemeanor Division. Mr. Ryan was able to not only assist in the day-to-day operations and hearings of the courthouse, but he also helped with the defense of clients charged with crimes ranging anywhere from petty theft to murder and other serious felonies, even allowing Mr. Ryan himself to be trial counsel for a Penal Code section 245(a)(4) prosecution. After graduating law school, Mr. Ryan was hired as a graduate law clerk for the State Public Defender in San Diego, where he continued to work with indigent clients with desperate legal circumstances. Following his clerkship with the State Public Defender in San Diego, Mr. Ryan founded the Law Offices of Colby J. Ryan, where he continues to assist those in the San Diego community that have been injured and need legal assistance.

In his spare time, Mr. Ryan also likes to dedicate his time the California Western SOL Mock Trial Program, where he serves as an Assistant Coach and helps develop the next generation of young legal advocates.
