Only "essential travel" is currently permitted through the land border with Mexico.

Your EAD application will be processed and issued irrespective of any retrogression.

Since legally earned, your income can be taken into account and added into the Sponsor/petitioner's.

NVC normally contacts the petitioner when there is about 1 year left before the PD is expected to become current.
