Real Estate Broke

Rick has represented me in eviction cases for 20 years and is awesome. Professional, informs you of what is going on and has won all of my cases.

An ethical unlawful detainer attorney

Mr Alter stepped in to help my mother and I in a situation where we were ran over by a bad landlord and that big corporate eviction law firm that has the worst reputation in Southern California. From the beginning Mr Alter heard us out and though he was never retained he helped us without charging... us when he felt it was appropriate to do so. Mr Alter is a peace maker and a man of the highest moral integrity. If more lawyers had his integrity the world would be a better place.

The Greatest Eviction Attorney is Town!

I have used Richard Alter for evictions for 25 years and NEVER lost a case. His prices are reasonable. He is smart and practical and likable.

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"I have been on the opposite side of a few cases with Rick, and can sincerely say he is a pleasure to work with. He is available to discuss issues without waiting until the last minute (like most landlord/tenant "factories") and will work toward a fair resolution of issues. Most of my landlord/tenant cases are complex, and include claims of both tenant and landlord breaches of the lease; rather the simply blow off the tenant claims and proceed to an unnecessary trial, Rick will actually assess risk and try to avoid unnecessary expense to his clients."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
