Nanya Yoshiko Morinaga Thompson

I am passionate about defending immigrant rights.  Since 2007, I have dedicated my entire career as an attorney to helping immigrants in my community and throughout the world.  My passion comes from own family's immigrant experience, including my grandfather, a first-generation Japanese immigrant, who was forced to live in an internment camp during World War II.  While the United States is a country full of immigrants, there is an ongoing need to protect and advocate for immigrant rights.  As an attorney, who is known for taking on and achieving positive results in complex immigration cases, I understand this need, and will work zealously to help you and your family members and friends.

My practice focuses on bond and detention matters, deportation defense, particularly against lawful permanent residents facing deportation for criminal offenses, affirmative and defensive asylum applications, naturalization, derivative and acquired citizenship, immigrant family petitions, immigrant visa applications at the consulate, fiance petitions and visas, conditional residency, petitions for victims of domestic violence, U-visas (visas for crime victims), T-visas (visas for trafficking victims), immigration-related appeals both at the BIA and federal circuit courts, waivers of inadmissibility (pardons), advising immigrants facing criminal charges, advising criminal defense attorneys regarding safe immigration pleas and post-conviction relief matters, application review, and business and investor visas.  I have represented people from all over the world.
