Education
Matt received his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University – Hawaii. He received his law degree from Brigham Young University – J. Reuben Clark Law School. While in law school, he worked as a research and editing assistant for one of his law professors, attorney Robert S. Tippett, who published the well-respected treatise The Utah Law of Trusts & Estates.
Professional Career
After law school, Matt worked at an estate planning and business law firm in Salt Lake City, Utah. After moving back to his hometown of San Diego Matt has counseled and assisted many clients in their estate planning, franchising and business needs, and he has represented clients in various business and probate litigation matters, including contract disputes, franchisee/franchisor disputes, trustee/beneficiary disputes, personal injury cases and many more. Matt operates the Newbold Law Firm as a solo practitioner.
Personal Interests
Matt is a native of San Diego County. Some of his personal hobbies include surfing, playing the guitar, playing the piano and rooting for the Padres and the Chargers.
