Jason Goldwater

Jason Goldwater represents individuals in litigation, arbitration and mediation, primarily in employment matters. He also provides highly tailored advice and counsel to employers of all sizes on emerging issues — such as pay transparency and reporting requirements, mass employment arbitrations, and drug testing compliance — as well as other complex issues — such as meal and rest break policies, leaves of absence, FLSA and California Wage & Hour compliance, etc. Jason also has experience conducting internal investigations, providing guidance on company policies and procedures, advising on offer letters and termination/severance agreements, and all other issues facing employers in California and the United States.

In litigation, Jason represents individuals, as well as companies of all sizes, ranging from the largest Fortune 500 and Fortune Global 500 companies, to closely held corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships. His clients have included household names in the technology, biotechnology, financial services, healthcare, and manufacturing industries, among others.

In addition, Jason has extensive cross-border experience representing international companies and dealing with international discovery and litigation issues (such as depositions outside the United States, sovereign immunity claims, Hague Convention procedures, and so forth). Besides employment litigation, he has also represented clients in commercial litigation and product-liability litigation, including consumer class-actions, mass-tort class-actions, and multi-district litigations. He has participated in several bench and jury trials, and has experience litigating cases to verdict in both contexts and in arbitration. Finally, Jason represents companies and individuals in anti-SLAPP matters regarding protected speech.

Jason is fluent in French and proficient in Spanish.
