Michael Patrick Hernandez

Michael Hernandez is known in the legal community as an expert trial strategist and has a reputation for winning the most difficult cases. Born and raised in Orange County, Michael became passionate about serving the underprivileged when he volunteered at Taller San Jose in Santa Ana, California. Michael taught technical skills, speech and writing to men that suffered from criminal convictions and could not find work. With the help of others, Michael successfully placed every student with a fulltime job. Michael felt the impact of his work so he decided to attend law school to make a larger impact on local communities.

While working two jobs and attending college full time, Michael graduated with straight A’s. Michael moved to San Diego in 2010 to attend California Western School of Law. In law school, Michael interned for the San Diego Public Defender’s office. Michael worked on hundreds of cases where the office wanted him to try cases as a law student before he took the CA State Bar Exam. Michael’s countless hours working on high profile murder cases landed him the prestigious award of San Diego Volunteer of the Month for the County of San Diego in December 2012 presented to him by the San Diego Board of Supervisors.

After passing the CA Bar Exam, Michael was quickly hired as a lead criminal defense trial attorney. In Michael’s first year as an attorney, Michael won the most criminal defense jury trials in the county of San Diego which resulted in not guilty or hung verdicts. In Michael’s second year as an attorney, he again won the most criminal defense jury trials in the county of San Diego which resulted in not guilty or hung verdicts for his clients. In Michael’s third year as an attorney, he represented a successful rap artist that was charged with driving under the influence of marijuana. After a full acquittal, Michael’s client expressed his gratitude and gave Michael recognition in a rap song featured in his newest album.

In 2016, Michael moved to Wyoming for the summer to work at the famous Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College. He improved his litigation skills working with professional actors and the best trial attorneys in the world, including Gerry Spence. After graduating from the Trial Lawyers College, Michael was quickly promoted to handle serious and violent felonies. Michael specialized in high profile drug cartel smuggling cases. He represented people that were charged with smuggling kilograms of drugs across the United States/Mexican border.

Michael is often consulted and brought on to serious cases by other attorneys in the community to aid in trial strategy and presentation. Michael continues his life work through his relentless advocacy fighting for the less fortunate that have been charged with a crime or injured in an accident.
