Chris S. Evans of the Gupta Evans Firm, was Hired to file a motion in our case, that had already been to trial, motion to deny fees and costs. On September 13th, 2018, agreed to do this for max of $5,000 and 4,000 to be paid now as retainer. It took three weeks from sept 13th, 2018 to October 28t...h 2018, for the results of the motion filed. 3 days after the conclusion of this motion I opened an email stating I owed a total of $28,000. I emailed back and asked what this was in regard to and this was not ever discussed. No phone calls or emails were returned to me by Gupta and or Evans. Now Christopher Evans and his partners are suing me to get 28,000. This is not a decision I or my husband would make for our family and have suffered great stress due to these billing practices at Gupta, Evans.We would never have hired them or continued their services had we known what they were billing. This large sum of money needs to be discussed with clients and is a breach of trust with a client to not discuss spending money or the option not to. We had been Pro Se in the courts for two years on this matter. We would have continued pro se had we known what was happening.
