The best attorney in State College

A while back I was cited in State College for underage drinking, public drunkenness, and possession of a false ID card. While all of these charges were summary offenses, I knew that I needed to find an attorney that could help me achieve the best possible outcome in order to ensure that my criminal r...ecord was not left tainted after college. Before speaking with Brandon I was a bit uneasy about the future of my case, but ever since our first phone call I was put at ease knowing that I was in good hands. He is a very knowledgeable lawyer and knew the answers to all of the questions that I had. He told me exactly what was going to happen, when it was going to happen, and how it was going to happen, all before any of it occurred. We were in touch throughout the entire process and Brandon responded in a very timely manner to all of my phone calls and emails. Brandon was able to have two of my three charges dismissed in return for community service and the third dismissed in return for the completion of the youthful offenders program. He was in contact with the magisterial judge as well as the officer and was able to work out the deal without a hearing. When we arrived at the courthouse all of the paperwork was already worked out and all that was needed was a few signatures and explanations. He is currently in the process of having my case expunged from my criminal record and is still in contact with me in order to make sure everything goes smoothly. A short while from now the government records will be wiped clear and as far as my government record will show, it will be as if all of this never happened. I would recommend Mr. Merritt to anybody in need of legal advice and counsel. Brandon turned what could have been a very cumbersome and frightening experience into an extremely reassuring and encouraging one. He has great relationships within the State College law enforcement community and is highly respected. He will do everything it takes to get the job done and will work tirelessly towards the most favorable outcome for all of his clients. A job well done and a huge thanks to Brandon and his staff.

Excellent Legal Advice and Help

I was recently cited for a public drunkenness, which was unnerving since I work in the public school system. I knew I had to find a lawyer who would help me make the right decisions. I needed someone who generally cared and someone who would be honest with me. Brandon was all of those things the min...ute I contacted him. He was very generous and trustworthy. He let me know my options and helped me every step of the way. He told me what steps I had to take and what steps he would make in regards to my case. Brandon was always there to answer my questions and would contact me if he had any new information regarding my case. Brandon presented/explained my case to me and answered any of my questions before my hearing. (We were asking for the charge be dismissed in exchange for community service.) During my court hearing, Brandon presented my case in a very professional and thoughtful manner. I was so happy that I decided to hire Brandon. After the hearing, Brandon explained what I needed to do to complete my community service and then the steps to get this entirely expunged from my record. I am still in contact with Brandon and he answers all of my questions! I would recommend Brandon to everyone!

A summary of my time with Brandon

Last Fall, I was cited for disorderly conduct (public urination) in the State College Area. This was a worrisome time because this summary offense had the potential to stay on my record for five years. I would recommend Brandon instantly to any friends in the same situation because of the effort and ...consideration he put into my case. After telling him the details of the incident, Brandon did a great job of using non legal jargon to explain my options moving forward. There ended up being a three month gap between my citation and the eventual hearing. Throughout this period, Brandon regularly contacted me asking if I had any questions or to see how I was doing. After achieving the best possible outcome ( charge was dismissed), Brandon stayed after the hearing to make sure I understood the necessary steps to have the incident wiped over my record. In summary, Brandon is a very dedicated, very considerate and very good choice for representation.
