Waste of Time

I had some awfully unnecessary experiences at a university which I used to attend. I made contact with Veronica’s office last summer (in 2023), drove from Los Angeles to San Diego for an initial meeting, and she agreed to help me. I was very grateful and happy to be represented by her. It took ju...st under an entire year of time to take the first steps towards bringing it to court. Basically this case requires contact with a certain state agency in order to move forward. After ten months of nothing happening, despite my saying that the case is somewhat time-sensitive because I am still in college, I admittedly missed the initial meeting that was setup with the agency. It seemed like it wasn’t a huge deal and they happily rescheduled. Then the second meeting was rescheduled by Veronica’s office, and I had still been preparing to meet at the date and time that was initially agreed upon. I followed up about this immediately, explaining that I had thought the meeting would take place at the time that they had told me. I thought this was a valid explanation and hoped it would be rescheduled as soon as possible. I went another few weeks with no response. I followed up with another email, and then received a frankly demeaning letter from Veronica the next day saying that she was going to drop my case. I contacted her office as soon as I saw this and they instructed me to send her an email, and that she would call me. It’s been a while now since that happened as well. I sent them another email just today, but am not too hopeful anything might change. In short I definitely feel like a full year of my time has been wasted. I’m sure it’s not a question of merits because Veronica would not have taken the case if she viewed it as unimportant. But I am quite disappointed by my experience here. I could have spent the past year seeking counsel elsewhere and now my time has been wasted and the time on the statute of limitations continues to tick. You would be best off taking your case elsewhere.

"I had the pleasure of working with Veronica as co-counsel in arbitration and mediation proceedings involving employment law issues and compliance. Veronica distinguishes herself on many levels but perhaps most impressive are her strategic instincts and negotiation skills. Both matters were resolved to her client's distinct advantage, again evidencing her unique ability to deliver results."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals.
