Getting in a car accident was the scariest thing that ever happened to me. To this day, every time I start my car I remember that accident. Complete damage to every area of the vehicle, Slid 202 yards on the passenger side after landing, the feeling of glass flying into my arm and side of my face.... I was lucky to make it out alive, then came the hard part. I had a car I was paying off, medical bills, chiropractor bills, loss of wages, bills to pay... For all the physical pain I was in, the mental anguish was more than unbearable. I asked my chiropractor if he knew an attorney. He knew a few. Scott Salmu was absolutely the most personable. He expressed a genuine interest in my case and gave my all the facts up front. My case lasted over 6 months due to my extensive treatment. Medical collectors began calling and Scott told me to forward them to his office. He placed what I think was a sort of lien on my bills to make sure the bills would not adversely affect my credit while we were going through this very lengthy process. After 6 months of bills and treatment, I was ready to close my case. Scott got enough money to pay off my car, all my bills, and put over $12,000 in my pocket. All in all, I would say the total cost of the case was over $30,000 between the car payoff (1998 Honda Accord), the medical bills, and the extra cash to get me back into another vehicle. Scott's true test of character came over a year later for me. A bill collector was calling a year later claiming that a bill remained unpaid and they threatened to put the bill (roughly $1,700) on my credit. I called Scott's office and told him about the bill. He asked about all of the information and no sooner was I cc'd on a letter from his office to the creditors demanding they relinquish any and all attempts to collect on me. He enclosed documents about the lien and the payment. Over a year later, with nothing to gain, Scott still went out of his way to assist me with my case. His service is invaluable and I couldn't recommend a better attorney. For all the pain and annoyances I went through, I do not believe that the legal litigation could have gone any better.
