Lawrence Hellmann

Based on my experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering hiring this attorney. His approach seems far more focused on prolonging disputes and generating legal fees than on achieving outcomes that are actually in his client’s best interests. Rather than working toward reasonable, amicable r...esolutions, he appears to thrive on unnecessary conflict and costly litigation. Even more concerning, I have personally witnessed him make statements in court on multiple occasions that I knew to be false. In my opinion, his conduct raises serious questions about his integrity and priorities.

I hired this attorney to seek increased parenting time and a more stable long-term arrangement. I was advised to pursue an aggressive litigation strategy and to reject settlement discussions in favor of going to court. The end result was the opposite of what I was trying to achieve. After signific...ant time and expense, the court ordered a schedule that provided less parenting time than what had previously been available through settlement, along with additional financial consequences tied to how the case was litigated. In retrospect, I would have benefited from a more realistic assessment of my position and clearer guidance about risk, cost, and likely outcomes. The approach taken increased conflict and expense without improving the result.
