I have worked with this attorney before and found her to be extremely knowledgable and trustworthy. She and her assistant kept me informed of my case at all stages and was always availble to answer my questions. My experience is that this attorney was always accessible, however I made sure my month...ly invoices were always paid and my account was current, so I never experience being sent to collections.

I was trying to take care of a child support matter and was given the complete run around from DCSS for several months. Kathleen stepped in and handled the matter in a timely fashion - all without having to incur a large attorney bill. She was courteous, professional, and kept me informed of everyi...ng that was going on. I would highly recommend her. She was a lifesaver - I could not have done it without her.

Sometimes you do not know who a "good lawyer" is until you have experienced a "bad lawyer". I had a terrible lawyer until I became fortunate enough to retain Ms. Blakely. I felt her billing was fair and reasonable. She is very knowledgeable when it comes to family law and she was always well prepared... for our court appearances. She has excellent communication skills, and kept me informed about my case. She mailed all paperwork to me in a timely manner. She made me feel like she really cared and I wasn't just another client. I recommended her to my friend and my friend was equally as happy as I was. Learn from my mistake and obtain the right lawyer the first time around.

I had been using another law firm and getting nowhere. I had heard Elder-Blakely was good from a friend so I switched over. She was aggressive in her representation of me and settled my case relatively quickly. She is a little hard to get a hold of, (when I called she usually was in court). I woul...d highly recommend her.

Simple divorce/ custody issue that was eventually settled and assets divided - with the exception of pension benefits. When confronted with Teamsters Union this attorney slacked off, and eventually gave up. Very poor communication, a multitude of standard excuses for delays, (my assistant screwed up,... we don't have your correct phone number, nobody answers your phone, etc.) This attorney was never available to the client and all questions were directed to the assistant. This case was paid upfront and started in 2005, and only child custody/ support was settled, which could have been done through the DCSS with greater benefit. To date (2008) she has billed and sent to collection, two additional invoices for services rendered that produced nothing, These arrived with no problem, but when an update on paper as to the case status was requested, nearly nothing was sent. Mandatory court dates were posponed without client knowledge, and when confronted with obsticles, this attorney favored substitution pro per and did not notify client of pending court dates for mandatory settement hearing. The case was unknowingly dismissed due to non appearance by either party involved. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FIRM.
