Parole in Place/Green Card for Spouse of Military Veteran
Aug 30, 2015OUTCOME: Parole in Place was approved and client can receive her green card in the U.S.
Our client was still undocumented despite many years of marriage to a U.S. citizen as she had entered the country illegally and could only apply for her green card abroad, where she would have to file a ... waiver to pardon her illegal stay in the U.S. She did not want to go abroad due to the cost and fear of separation from her U.S. family if her waiver application was delayed or denied. After evaluating her case and background we found out that her husband was a retired army veteran and we applied for an immigration benefit called Parole in Place for her. This was approved and it protects her from deportation and allows her to receive her green card here without leaving the U.S.
