Words cannot describe how grateful I am for Stephen. I called him during a very stressful time in my life and he was calm, understanding and really listened to me. During the process he and his team were very quick to get back to me, coming up with different avenues when one didn't workout. I always ...felt like they had my best interest at heart and really cared about my case. During the process in court Stephen was ASTOUNDING. He helped me understand what was going on, gave me helpful feedback and was making sure I was doing ok as one day in court turned into three. I felt safe on the stand knowing he was in court with me. He even made time in between days to call me on the phone and prepare me for the following day going through even small details so I would be prepared for anything. Hearing him give the closing argument for me gave both me and my friend (who was by my side) chills. He really is meant to be a for this line of work. His strong voice, protective personality and quick wit make him the best kind of lawyer. He has a real presence in the court room. After Stephen had won my case, I called my family and friends and just went on and on about how blessed I felt that God had put Stephen in my path to help me through a difficult time. Don't even waste time looking around. Stephen is worth every penny. He's your guy! I hope I wont even need a lawyer again but if I do, I know who I'll be calling. Thank you Stephen!! I am forever grateful for you!

The first lawyer I went to took forever to return my calls and emails. In the end I felt like I didn't get the greatest deal for support. I decided to consult with Stephen Cawelti and boy does this guy know what he's talking about. He pointed out several areas where my other attorney didn't come thro...ugh for me. He explained to me in a way I could actually understand, (not a bunch of legal speak that went over my head like my first atty) and I immediately felt comfortable that he could help me. He treated me like I was a person, not a nuisance when I had questions. He ultimately got my support in a better place. I'm so grateful, I feel like a weight is lifted and I can move on with my life now.

Stephen handled my case for child custody/visitation issues a few years after my divorce and then again when I needed to request visitation exchanges to be at a local police station. It was a really difficult time and he made everything so much easier. Stephen is by far the best attorney I've ever wo...rked with. Through my job there are about 100 or so attorneys that I've worked with in the past and still do. There is a big difference between the other attorneys and Stephen. Stephen actually LISTENED. Not just superficially, with the "Yeah - I got it" and brush off I'm used to, but he really made sure he understood the situation fully. He explained everything, including options and probable scenarios, kept me informed, and kept me from panicking at court. The outcome was even better than I anticipated. I actually can't say enough good things about my experience. I hope I never need to go back to court, but if I do I will certainly call Stephen. I know that I don't have to worry as long as he is representing me.

For a simple divorce: no kids, no assets, and an already drafted agreement from my ex and I, I paid $2500 for my divorce and it took two years. I so badly regret ever going to Stephen, not only did he disclose my address to my psycho ex (which I specifically asked him repeatedly not to) until I threa...tened to sue him, he clearly sent my case over to his legal assistant to deal with and took forever in responding to me. My aunt paid the same for her extremely complicated divorce and it took six months. At my final court date Stephen had not informed me (or did not know/failed to do himself) that my agreement needed to be notarized. So after two years I was finally divorced but my lawyer failed to even notarized my agreement with my ex. What a joke, please if you value your money stay away from him.

I normally don't give reviews for anyone unless they're superb or poorly portray themselves. Stephen needs to go back to the basics and study up on family law. He does not to return your calls nor can you trust what you tell him because he shares incorrect info with the other lawyer's. Which tells me... he isn't listening. I can only say that he was fairly cheap and dressed professional but you get what you pay for I suppose.
