extremely disappointed

heartsick with the way my case was handled, a lot of money invested for no outcome, this attorney took money to handle business with my mortgage company, but did not follow through reaching the company or presenting my information. It became clear he invested little of his time, and relied on previou...s knowledge to provide information to me that is standard for anyone who knows anything about mortgages. Was not an advocate and mostlikely realized what an outcome might be based on my circumstances, so in essence took money I did not have to give me information I already had. A stiuation of preying on the trusting individual. Will not refund any of the money, listing reasons related to the original contract, when at least two of the reasons were created on his end.

We can certainly understand your frustration in not receiving a loan modification. However, our law firm consistently and diligently provided the services that we were contracted to provide per the terms of our written fee agreements with loan modification clients, and fully complied with all contractual obligations. While we cannot comment publicly on the particulars of your case due to the attorney-client privilege and the fact that no identifying information was provided in the posting, we can state that during the early days of the government's loan modification programs, some lenders and loan servicing companies were not adhering to the requirements of the government mandated loan modification standards. As a result, there were instances where we were unable to secure a loan modification for our client, despite our best efforts. In fact, there have been lawsuits filed by disgruntled borrowers against the lenders and their servicing companies as the result of their failure to follow government mandated standards. Prior to accepting a client for a loan modification, our law firm routinely conducted a detailed client interview to ascertain whether they were a qualified candidate to pursue a loan modification under the government's loan modification programs. We did not accept representation of clients who did not qualify under the government's standards. Due to the inconsistent approach taken by the lenders and loan servicing companies in implementing the government's loan modification programs, our law firm exited the practice of representing clients in loan modifications many years ago.

** STELLAR, STELLAR ATTORNEY -- BEST ATTORNEY I EVER CAME ACROSS OR DID BUSINESS WITH **

Edward Ovetsky has been representing our technology and web development firm for the last 6 years, both in and out of court -- primarily out of court by making sure things don't even get to court. He is by far the best lawyer I have ever come across after having gone through a large number of lawyer...s over the last 20 years. Edward is extremely knowledgeable, very sharp and is always looking out for our interests -- a rarity nowadays. Following his advice and counsel has saved up many, many (tens of) thousands of dollars over the years. I recommend him without reservation.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
