In pro per, they had filed a motion to vacate the judgment. My office was swamped, and at our request, Cory agreed to appear at the hearing on the motion and try to save our clients from losing their home. Cory had very little time to prepare for the hearing, but he jumped right in and did a prodigious amount of work in a short period of time. I attended the hearing, and Cory did a superb job at oral argument. The judge took the case under submission, a result that we considered quite a victory in itself. Cory didn't stop there. He helped our clients file a lis pendens and prepare for an appeal. Nearly a week later, the court still had not ruled on the motion, and Cory went in again ex parte. He persuaded the judge to grant the motion and vacate the judgment. Our clients were ecstatic."
