Best in town!

Hired Mr. Savin on a referral through Legal Aid, San Fernando Valley district. Boy, did I get lucky! His staff was always competent, caring and alert and Maria kept me up to date on the status my workers comp case by phone, in person, or email. His team includes a staff of young attorneys that are ju...st as good. His son Adam helped me through my deposition when I was a bundle of nerves. A family business and a legacy Mr. George Savin should be proud to have built. I won my case in two years a got a fair settlement.

WOW!!!

George was referred to me by a family friend Benjamin Fogel also a lawyer i was told that i would be in good hands, George told me exactly where i was standing and i did not have a good chance to win the odds where completely agents me, My employer had no workers cump insurance and that was very d...ifficult for me to get anything for my medical bills or get doctors to take care of me, George Savin took the risk he took my case and did the believable, i got the doctors and we got a very nice settlement for a case that had no insurance involved and so meany doctors turned me down it was hard, i am very happy of the results i'm a healthier man and the money from the settlement help me i would most definitely reefer Gorge Savin and this firm to all my friends and family

how to obtain my benefits under workers' compensation law

once I was able to reopen my case (a petition I wrote-200 pages) I contracted with George to handle my case and obtain the benefits (not every) I was entitled. He did well considering the rampant fraud committed by SCIF. Not knowing all the fine points of WC law (which I studied to reopen my case) it... became difficult to maneuver for settlement. I was fearful of having to take the case from George to obtain a settlement since I was not getting all the therapy I needed because of the accident. I felt that if I could obtain a settlement that included a monthly stipend I could "mix and match" my therapy. In other words pay for what I felt what therapy was most needed. SCIF was ruthless, insensitive and fraudulent from the beginning. I was ignorant of workers' compensation benefits altogether. Once I studied the law I was able to know what was going on in spite of the fact I had George for an attorney. He refused to take the case until I was able to reopen it myself. George and I both agreed that I would be better off representing myself in the reopening of my case. But this required studying the law and submitting a petition to the court. Of course the petition was appealed, but I still prevailed on a three judge district(?) court in San Francisco where my petition was my representation for a second time. SCIF decided not to appeal for a second time since it would result in the publishing of my case for all to see. This SCIF did not want since there were so many SCIF denied therapy and my case would become a template for others to follow (i guess). The reason George and I agreed that I needed to reopen my case without an attorney was because the judge would be more understanding of my needs. But eventually George had to be prompted to obtain a settlement once he had the case for a period of time such that I was able to obtain my benefits and stabilize. I would recommend George to anyone who has studied workers' compensation law. To anyone who has not studied WC law, I say forget it on obtaining your benefits or a settlements. I have been told that WC law has been changed with recent amendment that benefit the carriers and not the claimants. The basic premise of WC law it seems cannot be broken for fear of defeating the purpose of the law in the first place. I cannot say for sure that the law has not been defeated altogether by fraudulent means because I have not kept abreast of the newer law changes which can make it difficult to obtain benefits. I did not obtain all my benefits and nor did I obtain satisfaction in the way my case was handled. I would be happy to stand up to a class action suit against SCIF. My advice to all claimants is to go to the local law library and study WC law. Then you may be able to obtain your deserved benefits. Do not attempt to handle your own case. There are too many pitfalls that way. But do not attempt to have an attorney handle your case without knowing what legal rights you have within the law. Thus you must study the law yourself. An attorney can only help you obtain your benefits when you know what they are and how the law provides for obtaining them. Benefits are not always available by requesting them under the law. Things like unsympathetic judges, poor arguments, and untimely petitions can wreck havoc on a case.
