Mitchell Owen Hefter

I am an associate attorney with Kantor & Kantor who has been employed with the firm in one capacity or another since its inception. Before attending law school, I spent several years at Kantor & Kantor working as the Director of Client Relations, screening potential new clients for the firm. I was also heavily involved in the firm’s marketing efforts, educating disability support groups and community organizations about the pitfalls of dealing with insurance companies.

Building on my passion for helping wrongfully denied insureds, I pursued my law degree and returned to Kantor & Kantor as an attorney in 2013. My practice is focused primarily on helping individuals obtain wrongfully denied disability and life insurance benefits in both ERISA and non-ERISA (bad faith) matters.

I was born and raised here in Los Angeles, and currently live in Woodland Hills with my wife and two sons. I was a 5-time L.A. City Champion swimmer in high school and a member of the UC-Berkeley Men’s Swimming Team. I still enjoy swimming and playing soccer with my sons, playing with my French Bulldog, and hold an irrational love of the University of Illinois men’s basketball team because of my father.
