Going the Extra Mile
A few years ago, my sister and I found our selves in a most difficult circumstance that centered around a legal issue that my father, who was dying in the hospital, had failed to resolve. Suffice to say, we were emotionally wrought and desperate for help. I had reached out to a few other lawyers, most of whom never bothered to return my call and if they did, were more interested in their up-front fees, than offering helpful counsel. Fortunately, we found Brian and he immediately understood the gravity of the situation and was able to map out a plan of action. His calm demeanor, and solid knowledge of the law, kept an already difficult situation from becoming worse. Talk about going the extra mile, he even came to the hospital to meet my father – not a place most lawyers go -- and make sure that the matter was resolved properly. After our father passed, Brian was instrumental in taking care of some of difficult and confusing paperwork including title-transfers and other filings that we had no idea were legally required. He also counseled us on the importance of having a will, or a trust, the value of advance health-care-directives, and other important pre-need paperwork. Brian Sheppard is first and foremost a man of integrity and principle, well-versed in the nuances of the law, and fundamentally a man with the courage to do what is right. Over the years, I have had occasion to call him with a simple a question and he has gentlemanly and generously resolved the matter without an outrageous bill. Our only regret is that we weren’t able to avail ourselves of Brian’s services earlier.

Brian was easy to work with and most helpful in explaining the arcane language of estate planning. HIs fees are very reasonable and he is quick to reply to follow-up questions.

Compassionate and Learned
Brian prepared a new estate plan for my wife and me. He listened to our issues, answered our questions in clear, non-legalese, and produced the exact plan my wife and I had desired.

Mr. Sheppard is a great choice to help you with your living trust
We were referred to Mr. Sheppard by another lawyer and were very satisfied with his services. He seemed extremely knowledgeable in his field of expertise and helped us in the dreaded, but necessary, process of creating a living trust. His fees were reasonable and did not change from what he originally quoted us. I have not hesitated to refer him when the topic of trusts comes up in conversation with friends.

Review of Brian J. Sheppard
My Mother passed away in May and Brian was very helpful in guiding me with her estate, particularly with the transfer of her home to my trust. He also assisted me in obtaining an appraisal for the property and provided advice regarding the rental contract and property management. He was a great resource for many other issues as well.

Trustworthy, sound advice
I sought consultation with Brian Sheppard because of strong recommendations he received from a friend who had had him work on her mother’s will and estate planning. My mother’s living trust was in need of revision and the original attorney was no longer in practice. Brian was an attentive listener. He provided a wealth of information. He reviewed legal documents and provided clear and specific options. He was warm and engaging, clearly a strong advocate for my mother’s interests and also highly ethical. Overall, my experience confirmed the very high marks my friend had given him.

Great lawyer
Brian Sheppard has given me excellent financial advice for the last eight years, including taking steps I hadn't even thought of, such as paying off my mortgage after I received an inheritance. I am grateful for every minute I spend with him for his knowledge and counsel.

Trustworthy and Kind to the MAX
Mr. Sheppard represented my adult mentally challenged daughter during a long conservatorship trial. There were two parties interested in becoming my daughter's conservator (myself included). It became obvious to the court and Mr. Sheppard that the competing petitions for her conservatorship could not become co-conservator successfully. Yet my daughter needed someone to look after her affairs currently and in the future. Mr. Sheppard was very kind to my daughter, he spoke to her so she could understand what was happening, yet he did not talk down to her (very fatherly). The competing petitions for my daughters conservatorship was very contentious and cross accusatory . Mr. Sheppard needed to acquire many third party documents to sort through the 'this party said' and 'that party said' stuff. Anyway the trial lasted more than a year and required a great deal of patience from Mr. Sheppard. The judge awarded me sole conservatorship of my daughter and the other petitioner visitation rights to be negotiated by Mr. Sheppard. Mr. Sheppard was very patient with all parties because it took several months to get a marginal visitation agreement. Mr. Sheppard remained my daughter steadfast advocate throughout the whole process and still remains her advocate. Thank you Mr. Sheppard

High Integrity
Brian Sheppard has handled asset protection for my grandmother as well as estate affairs upon her passing. Brian has provided our family with financial, legal and medical powers of attorney for our 80 year old mother who later fell prey to dementia. We have already made use of those powers several times. God bless you Brian.

Excellent Trust/Estate Planning Attorney
I was first introduced to Brian Sheppard in about 2005/2006 when I attended a Caregivers Association Seminar. At the time, I was helping to care for my mother who suffered from advanced Parkinson ’s disease. Brian was one of the seminar speakers and his presentation was very useful and informative. After my father passed away, I contacted him in late 2006 to assist my mother with estate planning and to help her prepare her trust documents (Revocable Trust, Will, Durable Power of Attorney, Advanced Health Care Directive, etc.). My mother was delighted that he made house calls because her medical condition made it very stressful and inconvenient for her to leave her home. Brian was compassionate with my mother and we were both very pleased with his services. In 2010, a few years after my mother passed away, I contacted Brian Sheppard to help me with my own estate planning and trust documents. I used his services again in 2011 to amend my trust and he was especially helpful and insightful. Brian is ethical, unassuming, responsive to questions and reasonable in his fees. I have since recommended his services to my friends, who were very pleased with his services. After almost 8 years, I consider Brian to be not only my attorney but a friend. I highly recommend his legal services.

General Appreciative Review for Brian J. Sheppard
I was introduced to Brian by a very dear friend in 2006. Prior to then I was having numerous problems getting to a legal counsel every time I needed one (very costly, generally unavailable, impersonal, etc.). What a breath of fresh air!! Brian was the absolute answer to all my legal needs. He, above all, was a very caring, knowledgable, and a real common-sense kind of guy - really got to the point of things and wasted no time in dealing with an issue. He also eschews any real personal luxuries; the office is very welcoming and non-pretentious (the receptionist even uses a "plug-in" swithboard from the 1940's to answer and rout incoming calls!) I almost consider him part of my family - he goes out of his way to make sure all is in order, assuming tasks I find too burdensome or disruptive, in general, taking care of me personally. He is nearly always available when I need him and returns phone calls promptly. He even stays on the phone to guide me through a procedure when I feel overwhelmed by the circumstances. I would recommend him to anyone immediately - if only ALL lawyers were like this!!

Robert H. Reviews Attorney Brian Sheppard
Most recently, I hired Brian to advise me in a false arrest matter. he was extremely timely and helpful. D.A. discharged the case as without merit. Also, i have utilized Brain's services in estate matters, primarily regarding issues with my invalid sister who was in a nursing home and needed help. he did an excellent job of advising me and providing necessary paperwork, such as Powers of attorney, etc. I would defintiely recommend Brian Sheppard in handling important legal matters.

Brian is terrible
Brian was the absolute worse attorney I have ever had. He is very lazy and doesn’t take the time to actually review each case. Oh and after all the money you spend, he will loose the case anyways. He is horrible! Do not use brain Sheppard.
