Nathaniel Lancashire Marston

Nathaniel Marston is a born-and-raised, third-generation Angeleno. Growing up in North Hollywood, he attended Harvard High (now Harvard-Westlake) and then headed to upstate New York to attend Hamilton College, a small liberal arts school, graduating with his bachelor’s degree in 1994. After college, he returned to Los Angeles and its sunny winters, working for several years in the then-burgeoning gaming industry for a children’s game publisher and later at Activision.

In 1997, Mr. Marston began his legal education at Loyola Law School in downtown Los Angeles. After graduating and passing the bar, he focused his practice on complex business and real estate litigation. Over the course of his career, he has represented closely held companies, individual owners, and investors in disputes involving breach of contract and commercial claims, partnership and shareholder disputes, LLC member and governance disputes, breach of fiduciary duty claims, business torts (including fraud and interference with contract), and unfair competition matters.

Mr. Marston also maintains a substantial real estate litigation and counseling practice. He handles disputes arising out of residential and commercial purchase and sale transactions, title and priority issues, easements and boundary disputes, quiet title and partition actions, co-ownership disputes, commercial lease and other real estate–related contract matters, and real estate financing and secured transaction disputes. He regularly works with court-appointed fiduciaries and has experience representing receivers and partition referees in connection with the administration, management, and disposition of real property.
