Practice areas
  1. Trusts
    30%
The bulk of my trust practice is litigation-related: trust contests, including setting aside trust amendments procured by disqualified caregivers; accounting & surcharge disputes; trustee removal; and other contested matters in trust cases. Trust matters very often are filed in conjunction with conservatorship proceedings where the proposed conservatee's assets are held in a Trust.

    28 years, 200 cases

  2. Litigation
    25%
I practice business & real estate litigation, handling numerous jury & court trials. I briefed & argued Soderberg v. McKinney, 44 Cal. App. 4th 1760 (1996), establishing the liability of real estate appraisers to investors. I handle proceedings to recover assets stolen from elders by financial abusers. I have worked in conjunction with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's office, pursuing the civil recovery proceedings while the criminal investigation & prosecution are pending.

    28 years, 500 cases

  3. Guardianship
    20%
I also handle conservatorships -- the appointment of a family member or a private professional fiduciary to manage a conservatee's person and/or estate. Often a conservatorship becomes necessary in cases of elder financial abuse; i.e. a caregiver or child improperly converting assets belonging to a person suffering from diminished capacity.

    28 years, 100 cases

  4. Probate
    20%
I also practice Probate Litigation including Will Contests, administrator removal, accounting demands, surcharge proceedings, and other contested matters in probate cases.

    28 years, 200 cases

  5. Wills and living wills
    5%
I do draft wills, trusts and powers of attorney. I also handle all litigation related to wills and other estate planning documents.

Recommendation for Probate and Conservator Cases
Lauriann and her team were our lifesavers as we navigated though a probate, a conservatorship and a second probate filing over the span of 4-1/2 years. We had never had to do anything like this before and had the added complication of living out of the state of California. Lauriann coached us through every proceeding and explained what would happen next so we were prepared up front. Lauriann was very knowledgeable and highly skilled when dealing with the expectations of the Court and the Judges that handled our cases. We never had to go back and re-do or re-file anything....in fact, our paperwork was done so well that our filings and petitions were almost always "recommended for approval" eliminating our need to appear and make a trip from out-of-state. My wife and I highly recommend Lauriann and her team.

Wastes no time! Treats people with dignity and respect.
Wow! Ms. Wright is an energetic and tireless advocate for Seniors. Even though the Probate Case was pro bono, she treated us with amazing dignity and respect. Ms. Wright went above and beyond to ensure that my mother's estate would not be usurped. Thank you Lauriann for keeping expenses in check and making the best use of your time!! We are grateful.
