Apparently collecting money upfront for a loan mod was illegal in CA but the firm collected $2900 from me. As per my contract I wrote to cancel my agreement with them after the 180 passed with no mod. They have refused to refund my money after over a year. Very little contact and when I do it is o...ften to stall or completely untrue remarks like my check will be sent out this week. But that was months ago. I would do your online research to find out what others think about their service here.

I hired Janian & Associates for $2500 in February 2010 to negotiate a home loan modification with my mortgage company with the written contractual promise for a full refund after 30 days written notice if they were not able to obtain a modification. They were not able to obtain a modification. Duri...ng the process I submitted several written requests for a refund. On or about October 26th, the firm did acknowledge receipt of one of those written notices and acknowledged it as recieved on or about September 28th and stated in writing that I was entitled to receive a full refund, but that they were still in the process of closing out my account. It is now mid January, 2011. Several follow up e-mails and phone messages left by me have gone unreturned, and I have not received my refund.

I would like to take this moment and thank the law offices of janian and its associates. I came to this law firm around January of 2010 to handle negotations with my Bank of America Loan. I spent almost one year trying to fix my loan with bank of america with no luck, i spent a full year sending a...nd resending my paperwork to the bank only to hear how they never got my bank statments, or they never got my paystubs etc, everytime i call its always something different. After much frustration i decided to go with a law firm. Getting an attorney invloved is what made all the differnce in the world. This law firm begain handling my case around early February , they immdeatly got my trustee sale date postponed and got my file in review. i spent a full year trying to do this on my own, but agian getting an attorney invloved really made the differnce this time around. Right after momerial day my assigned case manager called me with the good news, my loan was modified! they converted my intrest only loan into a 30-year fixed loan while saving me $490 per month. I highly recomend this law firm with all its wonderfull staff!! Thank you agian for caring!
