Jamaul Dmitri Cannon

Jamaul is a woderful attorney and I couldn't recommend him highly enough. At first I had my doubts: he seemed a little young (I'm a 62 year old retiree) and my husband's counsel had over 30 years of practice under his belt. But Mr. Cannon fought so enthusiastically for me in court he practically ha...d my husband's lawyer afraid to even go to trial. In the end, I got a great settlement that was way better than what I thought I could ever get from my ex. All in all, I owe nearly all of that to Jamaul and the Cannon Legal Group

From the first day I sat down with Jamaul, he told me he was a busy man, and that he didn't have time to "hand hold" and that if I was that type of client, he didn't want to even take my money. I appreciated his honesty and I told him because it was my first divorce, I knew I'd be a mess. Then I st...arted crying...A LOT. Jamaul got me some Kleenex, gave me a number to a great therapist (who I still use to this day) and said "it sounds like this is too raw for you right now, I'm not going anywhere. Call if you need me later, but for now, I really think this doctor can help you." Fast forward six months, and I called him back. He actually still remembered me, which I thought was amazing. And I hired him on the spot to handle my divorce. A year later, I haven't looked back. He was honest, fair and compassionate the whole time. The only place where I'd disagree with him is whether he wants to admit it or not...he IS a pretty good hand-holder. :-)

Unfortunately for me, but fortunately for Jamaul, I have been divorced three times. He handled my last two and YES there's a reason I went back to him for my third. Simply put, Cannon Legal Group has attorneys who care and who are excellent at getting the job done. The thing that marvels me is h...ow unlike my initial attorney, Jamaul is very upfront about the costs required to go to trial and how trial benefits HIM more than clients in most cases. He said he's able to sleep at night because he knows that he tries his hardest to avoid clients needless wasting resources in family law cases in which (his words not mine) there really aren't true winners, just degrees of losing. So whether it's clients insisting on trial or wanting to come in for weekly thirty minute "status updates" (guilty as charged), he doesn't want people to waste money. Needless to say, I've always appreciated the candor and that's why I went back and I've referred another friend who was getting divorced.

When I first walked in, I was a little dubious of Cannon Legal Group. Mr. Cannon sure talked a good game, and that's why I came through the door. But I had a complex divorce case involving forensic accountants valuations of multiple community property businesses and with significant real estate hol...dings that generated varying amounts of rental income. So when I discovered that Mr. Cannon didn't have a file clerk or paralegal, I doubted he had the resources to handle my matter. Boy was I wrong. Between Mr. Cannon and his partner Mr. Watkins, they handled my case exceptionally. They promptly returned all calls, they showed a clear desire to reach a fair settlement as opposed to trying to try the case for the sake of racking up fees. In the end, I got a very favorable settlement for much less than I spent on my initial attorney and I could not recommend "CLG" highly enough.

Mr. Cannon is a great attorney. If I could describe him in one word, I'd say "patient". I told him going in that I'd never been through divorce, and I'd probably ask him a bunch of "stupid questions." And even though some attorneys I spoke to claimed there's no such thing, Mr. Cannon was the only ...one who seemed like he meant it. He also walked me through every step of the process no matter how many other questions I gave him. He also helped to convince me to let go of a ton of bitterness I harbored towards my ex in order to work towards a better settlement for the sake of my kids. At the time, I didn't like him very much, but now, I'm very thankful I listened. All in all, I couldn't recommend him highly enough.
