Jamaul Dmitri Cannon

Jamaul is a virtual encyclopedia when it comes to the Family Code. I interviewed numerous so-called Family Law Specialists, who didn't seem to know half as much as he did (though they did want to charge me twice as much as he did). I used Jamaul both for a child custody hearing with my first wife a...s well as to handle a divorce 3 years later with my second wife. In both instances, he simply rolled up his sleeves, went to work and got me the best deal I probably could've had. Without a doubt, his empathy is second to none and I could not recommend him more highly.

Jamaul was great. I was terrified I would end up paying at least $2,000 a month in alimony and child support to my lazy ex who never worked a day in her life. Mr. Cannon got the judge to "impute" income to her and got me equal custody with my son, which my ex's lawyer constantly claimed I would nev...er get. All in all, I ended up spending half of what I thought I was going to have to and Mr. Cannon ran circles around the other lawyer. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Jamaul was an EXCELLENT attorney. I thoroughly enjoyed his "tag team" approach regarding my divorce with his colleague William Watkins. I was clueless as to how divorce proceeds. However, Jamaul was always patient, and always willing to answer my calls when needed. Additionally, his knowledge of fam...ily law was second to none. Of course, I had no experience dealing with a divorce attorney before. But what I do know is that even the judge in my case consistently commented on Mr. Cannon's insight, and intellect. Conversely, the judge constantly chastised my ex husband's attorney For incorrectly citing law and seemingly being unprepared. All in all, I recommend Cannon Legal Group even though I did NOT get every single thing I wanted. The reason for this though, is that I was informed fairly early on that my wishes were a bit unrealistic. Moreover, my judge on the record also commented that he thought I "wanted the world" and he congratulated my attorneys for "talking me down from the ledge." In the end, divorce is never fun for anybody. So I cannot say that I "enjoyed" my experience of getting divorced. I can, however, state that I could not imagine anyone helping me through my divorce who would have been as qualified as Mr. Cannon and his staff.

I used the Cannon Legal Group for my divorce from my second wife so I have experience using multiple attorneys. While my first lawyer was knowledgeable, I felt that he gouged me for several unnecessary costs and I thought litigation dragged out a bit longer than normal. The second time around, ...I used Jamaul Cannon and the Cannon Legal Group and I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was Jamaul more knowledgeable than my supposedly "Family Law Certified" prior counsel, he constantly found ways to minimize costs and the length of litigation. I was almost resigned to having to go to trial because my ex was so stubborn but Mr. Cannon masterfully, used her greed against her and got me a settlement that I could live with. I couldn't have been more pleased and I have since referred two other friends to Cannon Legal Group. I think the people making negative comments probably owed money. I had numerous conversations with Mr. Cannon wherein he stated in passing that he hasn't been shy about sending people to collections or filing motions to get off their cases and he suffered negative online reviews as a result. All I know is either I magically "lucked out" by being one person who had a great experience or Jamaul really does know his stuff. Either way, I consider myself lucky to have him working for me.

I almost never respond to these but I had to in the case of Jamaul Cannon. He and his partner William Watkins were extremely responsive and knowledgeable regarding my hearing for custody modification. They were able to successfully subpoena the very school administrators whom my ex claimed told her... that my son was habitually truant and didn't do homework when he was in my care. Once the judge heard them testify on the stand (they gave a totally different set of facts), my ex had zero credibility before the judge and I won sole physical custody. Mr. Cannon's knowledge of the judge's habits was also second to none, he seemed to predict what the judge would say before it happened and what he said came to fruition. I have to say I was extremely impressed and I would recommend Cannon Legal Group to anyone.
