Jamaul Dmitri Cannon

Jamaul is a virtual encyclopedia when it comes to the Family Code. I interviewed numerous so-called Family Law Specialists, who didn't seem to know half as much as he did (though they did want to charge me twice as much as he did). I used Jamaul both for a child custody hearing with my first wife a...s well as to handle a divorce 3 years later with my second wife. In both instances, he simply rolled up his sleeves, went to work and got me the best deal I probably could've had. Without a doubt, his empathy is second to none and I could not recommend him more highly.

I was a bit wary of using the internet to seek an attorney. However, after my divorce in New Jersey, my wife moved to California and almost immediately decided to sic Los Angeles County Child Support Services on me. Never mind that the ink was barely dry on my divorce...the same divorce in which my... wife agreed to a set amount of money per month. Two months later, she was crying that "I left her with nothing" and that I needed to pay double what she originally agreed to under "guideline." I eventually happened upon Jamaul and he was unbelievably knowledgeable and friendly to my budget. While other attorneys wanted thousands in retainer fees and demanded that I pay a "double retainer" to go to both child support court and family court, Jamaul gave me one reasonable flat fee and told me he could take care of the matter with just one hearing. That is exactly what he did and although I felt completely ganged up on by the County, Jamaul fought for me rights and convinced the judge to dismiss my ex's petition for lack of jurisdiction (she hadn't lived in LA County long enough to even file). When my wife filed again, Jamaul got her request dismissed because of her failure to include certain financial documents. After failing twice, my wife finally gave up and accepted the same amount we originally decided upon. All in all, Jamaul was excellent and I would recommend him highly to anyone.

This guy just might be one of the smartest attorneys I've ever met (and that's saying something because I've been divorced four times). By far, my experience with Jamaul and his staff was top notch. He has very flexible billing arrangements, he was respectful yet aggressive in court, he is an unbel...ievable legal writer. When all was said and done, even though divorce (unfortunately) is all too familiar for me, I cannot recommend Jamaul more highly. He will absolutely be my next call when it comes time for my fifth divorce!!

When I told Mr. Cannon that I didn't know where my ex was living, he said no problem. Then he used some friends of his at DMV to find the current address for my ex. When I told Mr. Cannon that I thought my exit been arrested for drug use, no problem. He used people he knew at the sheriffs departme...nt to pull his complete rap sheet even though I didn't even have so much as a Social Security number or a date of birth. When I told Jamaul I thought my ex was currently employed and I wanted child-support but I didn't know where he worked, no problem. Mr. Cannon used contact Cihak at the child support services division for the county to locate EDD records for his employer. Finally, when I told Mr. Cannon that I was afraid of going to court, no problem. He went to court and completely destroy any credibility that my ex had. At the end of the day I got the support amount I wanted and I don't know where I would've been without Cannon Legal Group. All in all, I had a great experience with Jamaul and I cannot rate his firm highly enough.

Jamaul was an EXCELLENT attorney. I thoroughly enjoyed his "tag team" approach regarding my divorce with his colleague William Watkins. I was clueless as to how divorce proceeds. However, Jamaul was always patient, and always willing to answer my calls when needed. Additionally, his knowledge of fam...ily law was second to none. Of course, I had no experience dealing with a divorce attorney before. But what I do know is that even the judge in my case consistently commented on Mr. Cannon's insight, and intellect. Conversely, the judge constantly chastised my ex husband's attorney For incorrectly citing law and seemingly being unprepared. All in all, I recommend Cannon Legal Group even though I did NOT get every single thing I wanted. The reason for this though, is that I was informed fairly early on that my wishes were a bit unrealistic. Moreover, my judge on the record also commented that he thought I "wanted the world" and he congratulated my attorneys for "talking me down from the ledge." In the end, divorce is never fun for anybody. So I cannot say that I "enjoyed" my experience of getting divorced. I can, however, state that I could not imagine anyone helping me through my divorce who would have been as qualified as Mr. Cannon and his staff.
