“Guerriero” translates in Spanish, Portuguese and Italian (with a few minor spelling variations) as “warrior”, which is appropriate as Ms. Guerriero’s law practice is dedicated to fighting for the rights of injured workers. She practices Longshore and California Worker’s Compensation, although her firm also specializes Social Security Disability and Disability Retirement.
She is a Super Lawyer, Certified Specialist in Worker’s Compensation Law since 2001 and Managing Partner at Cantrell Green in Long Beach, joining the firm in 1997. She began her practice as an Applicant’s Attorney in 1995 at DuRard, McKenna and Borg in San Mateo. At the University of San Francisco School of Law (USF), she earned the American Jurisprudence Award in Legal Research, Writing and Analysis, won the Moot Court Best Oral Argument Award, made Law Review and Dean’s List. She published an article in the USF Law Review entitled “Citizen Suits: California’s Proposition 65 and the Lawyer’s Ethical Duty to the Public Interest” and earned State Bar of California and Judge Agnes O’Brien scholarships.
Originally interested in environmental law during law school, she interned at the Nature Conservancy, Sierra Club Legal Defense Fund, Greenbelt Alliance and Environmental Justice Foundation before shifting her focus to fighting for injured workers.
Raised by schoolteacher parents, Juliana learned the importance of education. While at Claremont McKenna College during her undergraduate years, Juliana made the Dean’s List, received the Distinguished Scholar Award and graduated “Cum Laude” with a major in Political Science.
She is Past President of Women Lawyers of Long Beach and current Board Member, Past President of the Long Beach Bar Association Worker’s Compensation Section, Past Chapter President and current Chapter President of the Harbor Applicant’s Attorney’s Association, and Board of Directors member of the California Applicant Attorney’s Association.
