After an accident at work in September 2012 left me permanently and fully disabled I was completely devastated and overwhelmed. Thankfully my uncle, a retired lawyer for a major firm in NYC, recommended Juliana Guerriero at the law firm of Cantrell Green. Initially we tried to just work with my emp...loyer and the workers' comp insurance company to get medical treatments so that I could recover and go back to the job that I loved but once the doctors determined the injury had caused permanent disability the insurance company said they were closing my case. We hired Miss Guerriero in 2012 for my brothers Workers Comp case. My brother was struck by a car in 1977 while on the job. The insurance company has paid very little over the past 30 or so years. So I sought the help from a settlement adviser Mr Steve Chapman who explain that he wanted to give us an... attorney who was calm and didn't make a lot of noise. We met with Miss Guerriero in her office in Long Beach Ca. Her office was not cluttered but definitely was not clean. Soon after that meeting Miss Guerriero set up a conference with the insurance companies representative. After meeting with the insurance settlement person once in Miss Guerriero's office it seemed positive. We left with a good feeling, but Miss Guerriero inexperience and unwillingness to investigate my brothers case caught up with us 6 months later. She advised us to settle the case for next to nothing. After looking at the settlement offer I was shocked to see that this settlement was okay with Miss Guerriero. I asked several questions about the offer which Miss Guerriero was unable to answer, and when I demanded an answer the true Miss Guerriero came to light for me. Not only did Miss Guerriero not answer my questions she seemed confused that I was asking any questions. I felt Miss Guerriero was out for a quick decision in my brothers case and wasn't concerned about my brothers well being for the rest of his life. My brother has a Traumatic Brain Injury which left him totally and permanently disabled 100%. It is my duty as a loving sibling to make sure that he is okay, and I am not concerned about an attorney who is seeking to advance her career. I am only concerned about my brother. I would just say that if you are an attorney, and you truly want to do good spend more time in the library and less time tasting wine. In closing, please as a family member do your homework and look for an attorney who actually knows how the system works. Especially Worker Comp. The laws of workers compensation have changed so dramatically that the insurance industry with all there money really have a better grip than the worker. I understand that WC fraud is the worst, but if you met my brother (Which Miss Guerriero did) you can definitely see that this man is not a fraud. Our family has truly suffered to the point that no one else could possibly understand. Needless to say we ended up firing Miss Guerriero six months later and hired the best attorney I had ever met. I suffered an injury to my thoracic spine in February 2015. At a spine specialists recommendation, I filed WC. The WC insurance company denied the claim.
