Minh T. Nguyen is a dedicated advocate for individuals seeking justice. As the principal attorney at Nguyen Theam Lawyers, LLP, his legal focus lies in representing clients with personal injury cases. Minh's extensive expertise encompasses a wide range of accidents, including automobile collisions, slip-and-falls, product liability claims, dog attacks, and cases involving dangerous conditions of public property.
In 2023, Minh assumes the role of Presidentof the Consumer Attorney Association of Los Angeles ("CAALA"), the US’s largest local bar association of trial lawyers, comprising of over 3,000 attorneys exclusively dedicated to representing consumers. Remarkably, he is the first Asian-American president in CAALA's history, a testament to his leadership and commitment.
Minh embarked on his legal career at Jeffrey S. Pop & Associates, a distinguished boutique personal injury law firm. There, he championed the rights of catastrophically injured clients in personal injury lawsuits. Notably, in 2002, as a certified law student fresh out of law school, Minh undertook a challenging case that had been turned away by three different law firms. This case involved a five-year-old boy injured in a car accident at an intersection, where the driver was uninsured, unlicensed, on medication, and had made an unsafe left turn. Minh pursued legal action against the city of Modesto, successfully demonstrating the intersection's dangerous nature and securing over $3.5 million in compensation for the young boy and his family. Minh was also a rare 2-year, Extern to San Francisco Superior Court Judge John E. Munter.
Since then, Minh's career has been marked by remarkable success, having recovered over $250 million in settlements and verdicts for his clients. His peers have consistently recognized his legal prowess, naming him a Rising Star in 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2012, and a Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers Magazine every year from 2014 onwards. He is also a Top Young Lawyer, awarded by Super Lawyers Magazine.
He is a dedicated trial lawyer who is committed to training the next generation of trial lawyers. He is on faculty at the renowned trial college, Gerry Spence Method at Thunderhead Ranch, CAALA’s Plaintiffs Trial Academy, and Laws Di Gras. He is a frequent speaker at TBI Med Legal, Consumers Attorneys of California, and CAALA’s Vegas Convention.
Beyond his legal practice, Minh has demonstrated a profound commitment to community service. He has served as the Past President of the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers' Charities (LATLC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to philanthropic efforts funded by lawyers. Under his leadership, LATLC has contributed over $35 million to the community and provided over 500,000 meals, supporting initiatives such as scholarships for high school seniors, youth sports sponsorships, and the creation of specialized tricycles for individuals with disabilities. LATLC's focus areas encompass education, children's welfare, survivors of abuse, persons with disabilities, and homelessness.
In 2012, Minh founded his own law firm, with offices in Beverly Hills and Long Beach, where he continues to champion the cause of justice for individuals of all backgrounds, irrespective of age, race, gender, or sexual orientation.
Minh is a Past President of the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers’ Charities, a Board of Governors Member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, a Board of Governors Member of the University of California, Hastings Alumni Association, a Lifetime Member of the Philippine American Bar Association (PABA), a Lifetime Member of the Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association, a member of the Vietnamese American Bar Association of Southern California.
In his spare time, he has completed three full IronMan races—swimming 2.4 miles, biking 112 miles, and running a 26.2 miles. He is a rabid Dodger fan and plays competitively in organized adult men baseball leagues.

Auto injury case- Insurance Co. negligence
We were rear-ended in L.A. while waiting at a stop light; and my wife, in particular, suffered severe nerve damage. The insurance company of the driver claimed that there was a prior medical condition, since there was a record of her going to a chiropractor. They led us to believe that they would at...

Strongly recommend avoiding
I have a “soft tissue” injury case from a car accident 3.5 years ago. Unfortunately, my case ended up going to trial. I originally hired Lawrence Lallande, who was unavailable to represent me due to vacation plans he did not want to change, so he hired Minh Nguyen to represent my case at trial, a...
I have devoted my entire career to helping injured people to go up against the insurance companies. I zealously fight for my clients. I work on a contingency arrangement which means my clients do not pay anything unless we win their case, including the costs that I advance to bring the evidence to the courtroom. I spend whatever it takes to present my client's case to the jury. Yes, this means, typically spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to take a case to a jury. Most lawyers would not do this on a "soft tissue" case. But I treat all my clients equally, whether it is a "soft tissue" case or a case in which someone is injured catastrophically. I care about my clients and give them them best representation regardless of what it may mean to me financially. I believe in full justice for man, woman, and child regardless of ethnicity, race, creed, nationality, religion, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Unfortunately, insurance companies know the high costs of bringing a case to trial and use this information to low-ball clients with offers that do not adequate cover the harm to an injured person. Because of this, most injury attorneys view "soft tissue" cases as "small" and will not try a soft tissue case, yet alone, spend hundreds of thousands of dollars, to get full justice. While I am prohibited from getting into the specific of this case, it is my practice that all my clients know about all offers that the insurance companies make. Ultimately the decision to accept or reject an offer belongs to the client. In this case, a decision was made to proceed to trial and the result speaks for itself in terms of ensuring that the insurance companies' feet were held to the fire. The offers by the insurance companies to settle this case were just fractions of the recovery. Ultimately, for this client the financial outcome was less than what she expected, but her case was tried without her incurring any out-of-pocket expenses and she received more money by trying the case than what was offered by the insurance companies to settle the case. I am proud of this client's fortitude and willingness to hold the insurance companies' accountable for the full injustice that was caused to her. She was willing to stand up to a bully and say, "No. You will not low-ball me. I want full justice." Her stance will hopefully remind the insurance companies to treat all people fairly to avoid spending more money to go to trial. Remember, these insurance companies had the ability to pay more, should have paid more, and ultimately had to pay more than what they could have settled the case for. On top of what they had to pay this client, they had to pay their own lawyers to defend the case; they had pay their experts tens of thousand of dollars to spew the non-sense to the jury that the plaintiff was not injured. The people of Monterey County spoke loud and clear that the insurance companies had low-balled this human-being and made them pay more.
