I had a healthcare related problem with a governmental entity that was threatening to take away benefits from a mentally ill relative of mine. They demanded that a court order for his Special Needs Trust Account had to be sent to them by a deadline. This was going on for a while. I didn’t know at th...e time, but the trust is a third party trust which does not require a court intervention. Cara got to work immediately. She first tried to contact the local office where the threat was coming from to explain that what they were asking for was not required. They did not respond. Cara very quickly filed for an appeal so that she could discuss the matter with someone more knowledgeable at a higher level. After giving them a reasonable amount of time, instead of waiting for them to respond, Cara went ahead and contacted them. Speaking to a Rep. type of person, she was able to obtain the case worker’s phone number. Anybody who has ever tried to do that knows it’s very difficult, because it’s “Don’t call us, we’ll call you.” kind of set up. After sending the case worker a set of documents to review and a few phone conversation later, Cara had her acknowledge that the local office was completely mistaken. The problem solved - aid continues. Through it all, I discovered that Cara genuinely cared about my problem. She kept me informed, concerned herself with keeping the cost low, and worked very fast. Through it all she was energetic, considerate, responsive, and personable. Thanks to her outstanding work, a very unfortunate man’s future will be protected. Thank you Cara.
