I found Levy on google and his website was one of the first to show up. He was the only one that took my call during off hours. When I spoke to him over the phone, he wanted to meet immediately. Within minutes of arriving at his Long Beach office, he wanted me to sign forms appointing him my lawyer.... Levy said that "the case is great" and filed with the court using hundreds of dollars, which I funded. He also introduced me to a dentist in West LA named Jeffrey Waterman, who is extremely overpriced. He pressured me into going there to see the extent of my damages. Months later, and after having spent thousands of dollars at Waterman's, Levy explained that he was too busy to continue my case and suggested I find another attorney. While searching for another lawyer, I found that my case wasn't all that easy to prove and that I shouldn't have filed in the first place due to the fact that I may lose more money in the end. Levy never told me this. He misinformed me of any risks involved and raised my hopes up and did not return calls once the papers were filed with the court. While searching for a new attorney to take over the case, I found out that a handful of attorneys would have taken my case had I gone to them first. Lawyers don't want to finish what others have started unless the case is very compelling. Dental malpractice cases are extremely difficult to win because the jury believes that the dentist tried their best, no matter the damages. In addition, you need an attorney that really knows what they're doing because he/she will be going up against the lawyers of the dentist's insurance company. These insurance lawyers are really on top of it and you don't want to lose bargaining power with an amateur. Anyway, I lost more than $4000 and what's worse is that Dr. Waterman did barely anything for my teeth because he wanted to "preserve the evidence." All he did was schedule me for weekly check-ups that costed anywhere between $250 and $350. In the end, I found a lawyer that helped me settle the damages. However, I was unable to recover any money to repair the damage that was made in the first place. I also had to wait months before getting my mouth treated during the case and had to endure pain from the dental malpractice. Levy and Waterman are both taking advantage of people who have already been victimized. Save yourself the hassle and meet a lawyer who will give you their honest opinion. Also, meet someone who knows what they're doing so that they won't give you a half-a$$ed reason for abandoning your case.
