My wife was trying grubhub delivery for the first time, for income. She was two weeks into the job and got her first alcohol delivery after taking a very short online training course on it. Her first delivery ended with a swarm of police cars that accused her of delivering alcohol to their planted du...mmy minor. Its so awful, because the app requires an ID card scan to verify the age of the recipient of alcohol, otherwise, grubhub won't let her complete the delivery and she gets in trouble. Grubhub reports the incident to the police as well and so this police sting was pretty random and seemed to be very unwarranted. Anyway, my wife forgot to do the scan before handing the order over and the dummy minor took off so quick, that when she looked down to end the order on her phone and realized she had to scan ID, he was already out of sight. Thats when the cop cars swarmed her and cited her for a misdemeanor, before she even had a chance to report the incident herself to grubhub or anyone else. My wife is foreign and had never had an experience with a US officer before. She was not aware of her right to remain silent and her right to counsel. She proceeded to answer all the cops questions without legal counsel, thinking as long as she cooperated, she wouldn't be in trouble. She didn't realize they were building a case to charge her with a misdemeanor, because they constantly reassured her everything would be fine. They had as strong a case as any against my wife. We consulted with Jerry and Julissa and after meeting with them, we found them to be very knowledgeable and honest. Jerry broke it down for us and explained that his approach would involve negotiating with the DA to dismiss the charges on condition of attending a diversion program (like taking some educational alcohol serving courses). We went ahead and hired them. From that moment they took care of everything. My wife was even able to leave the country while they handled everything. They were also very quick to respond to our questions and I think it was very fortunate that Jerry had many years experience as a DA as he was able to predict, with great precision, what to expect. The end result was that Jerry was able to convince the DA to dismiss the case without any diversion program, like it never even happened. My broke down in tears of joy, literally, happy that this nightmarish charge was no longer hanging over us. Jerry and Julissa have our full recommendation as your criminal defense. This man is somewhat of a miracle worker. I made a mistake last year that could have easily ruined my life and Jerry basically got the prosecution to completely wipe the whole case.
