Learn Andrew’s areas of practice.

Attorney Andrew T. Cooledge has spent years fighting for individuals' legal rights. Immediately after law school, he served with the public defender's office as a volunteer clerk. Shortly thereafter he entered private practice as a criminal defense attorney. He spent three years in the labor and employment field, where he fought to protect the rights of employees in and out of court. Mr. Cooledge is a skilled, experienced attorney who offers personal service at reasonable rates by minimizing overhead and focusing his practice on areas where ordinary people's rights are all too commonly violated.

Andrew is a Wonderful Attorney !
We have retained Andrew, and will continue to use him in many more scenarios. He's a FANTASTIC attorney, with a moral compass that far surpasses that of his colleagues. His attention to detail, and ability to multi-task make him one of the best, if not THE Best, most versatile attorney in Long Beach. We look forward to working with him on many more projects, including, Copy-writing, Trademarks, and the general legal direction of our start-up, as leads our counsel. Thanks for your hard work Andrew! Much deserved.

THE BEST
I was in a desperate situation last year when I found myself facing immediate eviction after the 'lady' who had rented me her converted garage apartment turned out NOT to be the actual owner of the attached house. I had rented through AIRBNB, had no actual 'lease', yet had been there for almost a year and had been told could stay as long as I wanted. Deeply frazzled, I randomly went online and called a Legal Aid Service who put me in touch with Mr. Cooledge. The minute we met I felt a sense of hope and calm. Mr. Cooledge has that way about him. Although he is a very caring human being, he never lets his emotions get in the way of the situation and path forward. He was honest in letting me know we had a challenge, but also encouraging in that we had a solid case. He agreed to take my case for what I know is a LOT less then what he was worth. As we proceeded, Mr. Cooledge remained in constant touch. I NEVER had to contact him for updates. He was always there first. He took me through the paperwork and gave me 'homework' to do that would help him build my case. In this way, we worked together, which helped him timewise and helped me financially. He was always fair and honest with the hours he billed me for. On two occasions, Mr. Cooledge showed up in court - once on my behalf, and the other accompanying me. I cannot tell you the relief and confidence I had with Mr. Cooledge by my side. The other party tried every dirty trick in the book to win- but Mr. Cooledge always told me that the truth would win, and that the truth was on my side. That is one of the many things I admire about Mr. Cooledge. He only takes cases he believes in. He would NEVER represent someone he didn't feel was the wronged party. He truly believes the bad guys should face consequences, and the good guys should be vindicated. In this world where facts don't seem to matter anymore, and people talk about 'alternative truth' and those with the biggest bank accounts seem to always win even when they are guilty, it is so refreshing to know there are attorneys out there like Mr. Cooledge who embody 'old fashioned' visions of truth and justice and right and wrong. I know Mr. Cooledge gave me his all and then some. And YES, we won. A major victory. We settled in the courtroom without going to trial, and I got everything I needed. A fair victory. A very fair sum to relocate and to be compensated for the situation I was put in due to the duplicity of the person who illegally rented to me. I owe that all to Mr. Cooledge. This is a man who will fight for you, and won't quit till he gets you justice. He is worth every single penny. I wish him well- and expect to see him out there defending the good guys against the bad guys no matter what it takes.
