David Waldon Pickard III

I have worked both as an attorney in private practice and as in-house counsel for a general contractor managing its litigation related matters. I represent general contractors, subcontractors, developers, homeowners, architects, and engineers in construction related matters. I am a licensed architect and general contractor, and my experience includes dealing with construction defects, payment and collections, design professional negligence claims, and other miscellaneous construction issues.

I have handled both transactional and litigation work for both commercial and residential matters. My particular interest is in negotiating purchase and lease agreements for retail and commercial projects. Also, I am experienced with advising clients about and arranging for appropriate business structures for income properties.

I enjoy assisting homeowners with resolving conflicts with contractors they have hired to improve or remodel their homes. Problems frequently arise because homeowners are inexperienced with the construction contracting process, and my expertise as a licensed architect and contractor helps them understand the process and navigate safely through complex issues.

I am experienced with advising on, setting up and establishing new business structures. Also, I have extensive experience with advising on and drafting contracts and agreements.
