I was told Edward Robinson is an excellent lawyer by another attorney. Lawyer-to-lawyer referrals are valuable because other attorneys know which lawyers are formidable inside of a courtroom. From the very first conversation I had with Ed, I found him to be everything most people want in their lawyer.... Ed is knowledgeable, brilliant, well-spoken, aggressive and strong (and very likeable which is critical when someone is negotiating with a judge, jury, or prosecutor). I reached out to Ed after a friend was arrested and held without bail on a white-collar crime at the request of his wife, who speaks very little English. Within the first hour, Ed read the indictment and court pleadings and was prepared to have a detailed conversation About the case. I must have asked over 20 questions. He gave me thoughtful, detailed and thorough answers to each question. I never felt rushed. Twice he said to me, "You ask very good questions." There was a reverence and respect in how he communicates. Within one day, Ed took the initiative to go see the defendant who was in custody at the downtown men's detention center. He took calls from the family members in the evening and early morning, and was willing to meet on a weekend at his office for an in person consultation. It became clear very earlly on why Ed is so highly regarded and reputable. I would not hesitate to recommend him to my own family or loved ones.

Called and spoke to this attorney at least ten times. Offered to pay a significant retainer to represent an incarcerated individual who wants to return to California upon release from an east coast prison. Frustrating experience. First, he agreed to take the case, then he "forgot" about it. Then ...he agreed for the second time to take the case, but ignored the letter of engagement. Finally, he decided he is "too busy" for the case, but will offer a referral to a colleague, BUT HE WOULDN'T GIVE THE COLLEAGUE'S NAME!! He offered to make the referral and if the other attorney wanted the case, Mr. Robinson would let me know - never heard from him again. Are people who can afford to pay a legal fee not entitled to representation?
