Chelsea Marlene Norris

Chelsea was hired for my divorce and she proved not only to be a fast and efficient lawyer but genuinely helped me several difficult situations with my ex-husband. When I first hired her she was quick to get all the initial paperwork filed (done within less than 24 hrs of hire). She knew timing and q...uickness was very important to me and she really showed me that she understood that. She continuously checked in with me, sending me updates to know things were always moving (even if it was just slowly). I had a couple tricky situations involving my ex and Chelsea was more than happy to step in and communicate with my ex to get what I needed done. I don’t wish divorce in anyone but if it happens, you won’t find a better more attentive lawyer than her.

This was a first time experience with me being on this side of the law, THE RESPONDENT, because in my profession, I am usually the playing the role of the good guy and the defense is my dreaded opponent. That being said, there are very few attorneys who I feel that I can trust. I tried to endeavor ...this insurmountable task (divorce) on my own, both to save costs and to deny to myself I needed help. The Pasadena Courthouse Help Center was my best friend and also the place I hated seeing. I got to the point where I lost my footing, sucked up my pride and looked for help. I made my own attempts at consulting with a few Family Law attorneys, but most left me with negative feelings. I was referred to Chelsea by a friend/coworker. I was hesitant at first, but I made a call nonetheless. Just within our first conversation, I felt like I made a friend. Despite the quiver I felt when the conversation lead into her attorney fees, I fought against my internal struggle and convinced myself that she was definitely worth the cost. All in all, she was fair, efficient, thorough with her instruction, complete and detailed with her work, convincing in her argument, and most of all, UNDERSTANDING. My divorce endured during this current pandemic and I never really met with Chelsea in person, so most of our work together was via email and phone. When all was said and done and the settlement was written, I chose to meet with her in person to enjoy a casual conversation over lunch, to show her pictures of my family, and to let her know how much I appreciated her assistance. My family is doing well now, and I certainly feel that I owe a lot of credit to Chelsea Norris for that.

Chelsea was extremely helpful with my case she answer all my questions before starting the process and did everything very professional and accurate. She is very professional and very knowledgeable. She helped me every step and she fought for me. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for... an attorney who knows the law and truly cares about protecting the rights of clients and achieving the most favorable result possible.

I started the divorce process and quickly found myself in deep water and am so glad to have engaged Ms. Norris early on. She is personable and great to work with. She was timely in all of her responses and the completion of the necessary documents/correspondence. Chelsea was assigned to me by the supervising attorney at the Gay Family Law Firm. My previous attorney bailed the firm without any notice to me. Chelsea is not a strong communicator - she was vague and did not do a good job explaining my divorce process, nor keeping me posted of what to expect next.... (No guidance or direction) Nor was she proactive in dealing with the opposing attorney. She was not available to represent me on an important court date that may have been critical to the judgement of how much spousal support I had to pay. Some other attorney I never met reviewed my case for a few hours and represented me. When my retainer was exhausted, I went to another firm. When my new attorney requested my case records, she denied, stating that I owed the firm money (which I did not). My new attorney explained to me that she cannot withhold records after I secured my retainer with him. She must have known that wasn't ok, because when he called her out, she immediately sent my file to him. In the first 48 hours of working with my new attorney, I got more action, explanation and guidance from him than I did in two months working with Chelsea. I never felt like Chelsea or the Firm really protected me or fought for me.
