Peter Johnson

In 2021 i was prosecuted by the federal court and appointed a Lawyer. Mr.Johnson was able to expedite a bail for me on the same day i had a court hearing and was able to return to work and my normal routine the very next day. we had a brief discussion over the phone to schedule a meeting in person, h...e then assured me he would do everything in his power to fight for me. I went into his office later that week and was greeted by his lovely staff. We went into a conference room where i met Mr.Johnson and one his students named Dustin who at the time was helping with anything he could around the office. Mr. Johnson immediately let me know i was in good hands, that he would go above and beyond his way to make sure i was satisfied with his work and results. He told me "Im going to treat you like family" and that is exactly what he did. We were in his office for about 6 hours just debriefing every scenario and possible outcome, meanwhile also considering what responsibilities i had in life at that very moment. I am a father of two young children and beautiful wife, who i wanted to make sure every decision i made moving forward would benefit their lives as well. To some up my story Peter i would like to say, pushed for over 4 years to not have me incarcerated for these charges and was able to dismiss my case on good behavior after a probation sentence. I will forever be indebted to this man. i was able to continue to be in the life of my family and support them through all this time my daughter graduated elementary school last year and i was able to attend it. My son is graduating high school this year and i will also be able to be there thanks to this man. Whatever the reason was, he was sent my way like an angel from heaven to help me in a desperate time of need. i just want to let the public know this review is not something that I'm writing from a good experience over the phone or a consultation. Peter Johnson is the best , knowledgeable and well respected in the federal court system . I was facing a mandatory minimum of 10 years for usc 841 846 . Conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute. Even though I didn’t have anything to do with with these individuals or was ever apart of the ...grand scheme I was involved for being in the wrong place at the wrong time and got caught up . When I arrested it was the most terrifying day of my life I knew that it was serious when I saw the line of FBI agents coming to get me , a father of three with a history of addiction , no criminal record,no affiliation to any crime syndicate or with not a single illegal drug or weapon in my home . As the day progressed and I went through the process I was introduced to Peter , first thing he told me when we met was you are like a brother and I will treat you and this case as if you were my brother . The prosecutor didn’t make my bond easy and the judge was quick to say no but by the grace of GOD and Peter’s persistence I was out of prison the same night of my arrest and back home with my family to prepare for a legal battle I would have never imagined I would be in . I was stressed, afraid, depressed, and didn’t see any way out of this situation. I went to his office and met with Dustin and Peter . They both assured that they had my back and I needed not to worry . True to his word Peter and his team went above and beyond what any attorney would normally do . I had a relapse almost a year to the day of my arrest and was going to be incarcerated for violating federal bond . Dustin drove me to the hospital and Peter sat with me for hours keeping me company Peter suggested I go to a detox and rehab that he knew I was a good person but my addiction was a strong and destructive demon I had that wouldn’t let me go . Sure enough that kept me out of prison and in the good graces of the court because I was trying to do the right thing . Peter told me I would be a perfect candidate for the CASA program and to be honest I doubted that I would even be excepted because I had little faith in the system. Sure enough Peter had Dustin drafted my casa application and I got an interview with the CASA committee. Two days later peter called me and said “You have be excepted in to casa track one “ which meant that if I complete the program and stay on the right path all the charges will be dropped and I won’t go to prison a single day of my life . This brought me to tears and I couldn’t believe Peter did exactly what he said he would do . It was a weight lifted of my family and my self . Peter is an amazing individual compassionate, caring, and the best attorney you can ever have in your corner. He saw through the negative picture the feds try to paint of me and saw who I really was , a father, husband, an individual who had a tremendous addiction due to trauma and circumstances that were out of my control. I am grateful and will be for the rest of my life for the opportunity peter diligently worked to get me . I would have never got through this with out Peter and his knowledge of the system and his connections to the court . I thank GOD every day that he put such an amazing person in my life . Peter told me GOD has a plan for me and this was just a way to further my message of faith and helping individuals that can’t see the light at the end of the long dark tunnel. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for Peter and his expertise. In 2016, I was facing a federal 10 year mandatory minimum sentence due to a conspiracy and drug trafficking case. Mr. Johnson was appointed to me by the court to represent me. Before my court hearing, he introduced himself and promised to give me the best outcome possible. I was nervous and afraid, ...but his words gave me the comfort and assurance to know that we were going to get through that tough moment. While in custody and at the court hearing, I wasn’t given the opportunity to bail out since I was considered flight risk, but Mr. Johnson never gave up on getting me released. Within 3 days, he called to tell me he had Pre-Trial Services on our side and that I was going to get released with certain restrictions. At the moment, any restrictions didn’t matter as long as you’re able to go home to your family as soon as possible. After almost 3 1/2 years of being out on bail, meetings, and planning on Mr. Johnson’s part, he finally thought it was the best time to go into court to face my sentence. With his knowledge of new legislation laws, 20+ years of experience, and faith in God, he was able to get me a sentence of only 14 days incarceration, 18 months of home detention, and 4 years of probation! I had no words when the judge ruled out the sentence and it was all because of Mr. Johnson. With such a short sentence, I was able to able to keep my job and be out here with my family. I now have 2 months left of home detention and words cannot explain how grateful I am for the outcome. I thank God for putting him in my path! Thank you Peter!
