Charles Windon III

My name is Monica F. I was fighting 25 year's to life and Charles Windon was appointed to me by the state of California. I had to wait patiently for Mr.Windon to review the entire case . He did a great job for being a state appointed attorney My family we're very worried and wanted to hire a privat...e attorney, But so many attorney's told my family that my LIFE was safe in Mr. Windon's hands. Mr.Windon was my public defender when I was 16 years old. They offered me juvenile life and then took the offer back. I was sentenced to 18years to life for a crime that I did not commit, which I have currently served 19 years and counting. Mr. Windon had walked out of the courtroom after sentencin...g.And I have never seen or heard from him again. I had sent certified mail to Mr.Windon to request my appeal and transcripts for the withdraw of my plea his office signed for the mail name was Garcia , yet in 19 years I have not gotten one response from Mr. Windon. My current lawyer has called and sent letters with no response. I have been in Prison for 19 years with not one response from Mr Windon . He was ineffective assistance of council.

I feel that Mr. Windon did not represent me to his full potential as my lawyer. I fought my case behind bars for 3 yrs, when I say "I" it's because I felt I was completely alone. He would not argue my case to the courts and because of that I ended up spending 5 irreplaceable years of my life behind b...ars for a crime that should have been time served at sentencing. He wouldn't even fight my enhancement, of which, to both of us the D.A. admitted, i was not guilty of . Due to his lack of regard for my case, I must now register as a gang member where ever I live for the next 5yrs. P.S: the D.A told me personnally in front of Mr. Windon that he knew I was not a gang member.
