Marcus Bastida

I just hung up the phone from Marcus after a paid phone consult. He was demeaning ("Are you writing down what I'm telling you?!"), insulting, ("You made me work LATE just to answer these stupid questions?") and down right despicable (he hung up on me because he said it was late in the afternoon and... he wanted to go home.) I had specific questions about a legal contract which was only one page long and which he agreed to "glance over" (NOT review like he's being paid to do). I think I was on the phone with him for less than 5 minutes with him lashing out at me with regards to all my well informed, specific and precise questions such as "Should there be a statute of limitations on my contract that you reviewed for a book deal?" I wasn't being "wasteful" of his time nor was I ignorant and dimwitted the way he tried to make me feel. Several times he complained about how he wasn't getting paid enough. I don't know what kind of client this guy could ever make happy and satisfy because it sure isn't me! Potential clients; beware and proceed with caution when dealing with him.

Marcus Bastida is the most unpleasant lawyer ive ever hired. As the other reviews stated... he talks to down to you, belittles you, and has a bothered tone of voice during each call, and meeting. Despite the fact that he is being paid. For some reason, Mr. Bastida took it upon himself to interject in...to my girlfriend's sexual harassment suit...and he had the nerve to say "well come on, did this REALLY cause you harm?" I immediately fired him, and seriously think he should be disbarred.

Atty. Bastida has helped me several times over the last 12 years with writing contracts, negotiating agreements, and determining best course of action in matters that could have resulted in litigation either against me or brought by me. This is a person I trust very much to keep a steady perspective... and give me proper advice on how best to proceed. I will continue to turn to him as the need arises, and I recommend him to others.

Jerk. Plain and simple word to describe him. He was rude, condescending, and worst of all, I was appalled at how many mistakes he made; and I quickly dropped him. The guy was an embarrassment and a waste of my time. I'm surprised a firm would employee him if what he provided for me was typical....
