Useless

Michael was a very poor lawyer. Michael w out reading evidence of my case made a strong recommendation I was guilty based on what the prosecutors stated. Seemed as if Michael just wanted to take a retainer get paid and just take the easy route and plead guilty rather then read all evidence against me... and make a wise decision. Since firing Michael I have made the decision to fight my case. Furthering my complaint, Michael was given a plea deal from the prosecuters and I only received the plea agreement I believe aproxximatly 5 days before the plea agreement expired, I only was able to receive this plea agreement bc I had fired Michael and my new lawyer asked me if I even new I had a plea agreement and I stated “no”. Also, Michael had key evidence sitting at the prosecuters office and never even picked it up. Michael would not allow me to see my evidence after asking him numerous of times to make a request for me to see my evidence. How can a defendant make a wise decision if they cannot go over their own evidence. I live a 5 hour flight away from Michael. And California isn’t cheap for hotels and Michael tells me to come to California I believe Monday and I expected to meet all week long to go over the case Michael makes me sit in California wasting so much time and money on hotels and flights to then only meeting him at his office Friday afternoon which he tells me to come at 12:00pm and shows up almost an hour late. And then we meet and he literally gives me three conversations to read over and there are over 100 tapes/text of evidence on my case and he has me read 3 convos and that was about it(meeting lasted 3 hours at best). I then asked him again I needed all my evidence to make my decision if I wanted to plead guilty or fight my case. I felt in my heart I didn’t do anything wrong but listening to the evidence would confirm my thoughts. Again it was obvious Michael just wanted to charge a flat fee and take the easy route out based on his actions. Michael then knows my grandmother died and my cousin which was my assurity relied on my grandmas money to fund the house. So I asked Michael to assure me he would speak to the prosecuters to see if I can move my assurity. Michael like many other situations assured he called the prosecuters and was awaiting a call back. Needless to say when I fired Michael and went to court w my new lawyer I asked my new lawyer to ask the prosecutors as I was also in the same vasinity if Michael called the prosecutor and asked about my assurity and the prosecuters said directly to me that Michael never reached out to them. There is so many things I can state about Michael but I will leave it w this last part. When firing Michael he stated he bills $400.00/hr from my experience I doubt he is worth 100$/hr. I believe he is a legal aid lawyer and acts like one as he seems to have 100s of cases on the go and is always way to busy to do anything you ask him to do. However he tries to say he will bill 400/hr and states he did $ 23k of work which is a stretch. And then states if he finds out I paid him any more than that he would return me the difference. I then prove to him that I sent more than $23,000 and he makes an excuse saying that he made a call to another party and that call cost me $10,000. Long story short stay away unless you have no other options !! Good luck.

Great help with civil case

A few months ago I approached Michael Grahn to help me with a civil matter. During the entire process he was extremely kind and very thorough in explaining the steps and processes of the case. He made me feel that my input was important and I was constantly updated with the case. I had the best outco...me I could have gotten and it is all thanks to Mr. Grahn and his vast knowledge of law.

Fantastic DUI Representation

Thank you so much for all of your extremely hard work and support during what was a very difficult time in my life. Your excellent negotiating skills meant I was able to attend the least amount of classes and perform the least amount of community service in connection with my DUI, making me the envy... of all of my class members. Equally valuable and appreciated was your kindness and encouragement throughout the whole process. I could not have done it without you.
