James Ira Devitt

I hired James Devitt as my attorney during my preliminary trial in Orange County he made the prosecution look super small they were lost discombobulated angry and their faces were red with embarrassment from the brutal cross-examination given to the detective on stand, even though my case has not bee...n dismissed he definitely even the playing field for the future where the case might be dismissed because of fear of repeating the whooping they received.

I am not one to write reviews, ever, but I felt led to do so with respect to Mr. Devitt. Several years ago he represented me in DUI case and I literally lost as a result of his laziness, careless and lack of preparation. With all due respect, James is a prima donna and a quarter of the attorney he is... in his own mind. Friendly guy, I’m sure fun to hang out with...but really lousy attorney!

HOW MANY TIMES I PAYED MANY ATTORNEYS. I PAID LIKE MORE THAN 4 AND NONE RESULTED IN THE WAY I WANTED. HORRIBLE WORK, THEY DIDNT EVEN SHOW UP TO MY CASES, SO I WAS HOPELESS RIGHT THERE IN MY CELL IN COUNTY JAIL SITTING FOR ALMOST 7 MONTHS. HE EVEN OFFERED A DISCOUNT & SET UP A MONTLY PAYMENT WITH GRACE PERIOD. AFTER TAKING MY CASE ABOUT A MONTH AGO, HE SET ME FREE FROM JAIL & SAVED FROM PRISON. IM RIGHT HERE WITH MY FAMILY CELEBRATING THIS GREAT MAN WHO DESERVES THE SUPPORT OF EVERY CALIFORNIAN.

This last summer I was arrested for a DUI in the Valley. I was hit by an oncoming car whose drive claimed I recklessly swerved in front of her. I only blew a .06 which is .02 BELOW the limit of .08, but they still claimed I was "impaired" and charged me for a felony DUI. They said my license could ...be taken for 2 years and since my job needs me to drive the company car around LA, without a license, I'm without a job. This DUI was going to make me and my family homeless. My wife and I were clueless as to what we should do. We have 4 children at home, so this was just not an option for me and my family. We were really scared as to what was going to become of us. Neither my wife nor I had family in the area so we really had no one to turn to. With the economy down the drain, I couldn't just go out and get another job. I knew I needed professional help, more than what the courts could offer in the form of a public defender. I searched and searched for an attorney, until a friend recommended Devitt and Saltzburg. I called Jay Devitt the following Monday and spoke with him regarding my case. He was extremely professional and was able to explain everything in terms that I understood. He was very confident in his approach, which was comforting, since mine and my family's future was hanging in the balance. During all the court dates, Jay was right there with me, explaining everything in terms I could understand, rather than the usual court jargon I couldn't wrap my head around. We only went to court 4 or 5 times before Jay was able to get the charges dropped completely. No conviction on my record and I got to keep my license!
